Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Dayton West - Brookville by IHG

Started off badly when the luggage cart looked like it was from 1970 with stains and black gunk and beat up wheels. No sheets for pull out bed in couch in room. Room’s AC hardly worked, splashed water, did nothing to combat the considerable humidity in the room, and was filthy. Literally had a dead Asian lady beetle inside the grille. Probably full of mold, it was certainly full of dust and rust. All the outlets in the room were yellowed with age (not color) and loose. No fan in the bathroom. Pink mold in the crevices of the shower. The only ice machine that worked was on the first floor, we were on the third. WiFi was very slow. Breakfast food was cold, sparse, and bland. Not sure I trusted it anyways given the condition of the room. Paint was peeling off many surfaces all over the hotel, especially in high traffic areas. Floors were stained and gross throughout. Hotel lobby had “wet floor” signs all over, indicating a leak somewhere (no mop in sight). I would give no stars if I could. IHG should be ashamed.

The rooms, staff, commmon areas and breakfast and room were all very nice. The bed lights did not work and neither did the plugs on the nightstands. Inconvenient. Reported so hope it was fixed for next guest.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with all of my questions and check in went quickly and smoothly.

There were a few places where it was evident from the wallpaper that repairs or upgrades had been made. Surprised that there was no ventilation fan in the bathroom. The breakfast was top notch. Everything was fresh and well prepared.
