Comfort Inn Crystal Lake - Algonquin

Tile and hardwood flooring in the rooms. Staff was great, lots of towels, swimming pool was empty in the mornings so swimming was quiet and peaceful.

Mattress was a brick with very little padding over the springs; I am a side and stomach sleeper and my knees hurt while laying on the mattress. Worst hotel mattress I have ever slept on! The room was a "disability access" room and there were no rails or handles around the hot tub to get in or out of the tub. The microwave was very low and could not see the knobs or settings because it was so low and did not have the mobility to get on the floor to see the settings. This room totally failed as a "disability access room."

The AC didn’t work properly which made it really warm in the room. The ice machine also weren’t working.

I love the location, accommodations and the pool. My family, who I come visit in the area, come over to swim. They enjoy it. The breakfast was hot and good.

I just recently booked two nights- Saturday June 21st and Sunday 22nd, My plans changed and I needed to get home a day earlier. When I arrived at 3:30 Saturday to check in, I was not able to cancel my reservation for Sunday night due to the desk help was not able to do it from his end. (?) He told me to tell the front desk in the morning and it would be cancelled with no charge. In the morning the front desk said she was also unable to cancel the night with no charge, but was able to cancel with charging me a late cancellation fee of $28.00- I paid for Saturday night and the late fee. I would appreciate it if someone who does have the authority would look at this. I go to this Comfort Inn, Crystal Lake/ Algonquin several times a year and enjoy it. Thank you! Sara Smith McFarland

Clean & conveniently located

Double set of Entry doors into the hotel that you have to pull while trying to drag a suitcase through.

Not a bad place to stay for the price. Our room had a heavy smell of antiseptic that lingered for the entire stay. Rooms were clean. Electrical receptacles on night stands were so loose we weren't sure our electronics were getting charged. Breakfast was typical free breakfast fare but lots to choose from. Looking a little run down.

Nothing special about it at all. Clean for the most part.
