SureStay Hotel By Best Western Olathe

Profile of property gave the impression that this was a hotel. When in fact it is an exterior access motel.

I made this reservation through trivago, and what a mistake that was. When I got to the hotel at 7 o’clock that evening, there was no reservation. I looked at my email and two hours before I had received a reservation announcement that there were no rooms available. Haven’t been driving all day, I had not checked my email to know the room had been canceled. When I made the reservation that morning, I received a confirmation. Every hotel in the area was sold out. The gal at the front desk kept looking and looking until she remembered that someone had canceled but not been put in the system yet. I don’t know what we would have done. The front desk person was so accommodating. She did everything she could to help us. Thank you for such a great experience.

The price was cool. And convenient location. Staff was kind.

Blood stained sheets. (I always pull sheet before I lay in hotel beds) thankfully I have a double bed room

Everything was more or less fine except the thing we didn't like.

No WiFi. Spent time on the phone with the manager verifying that we were trying to connect to the right link with the correct password. That wasn't the problem. We just couldn't get a strong enough signal to get on the Internet, which we needed to do for work (I teach online classes), and the manager couldn't do anything but try to reset the modem, which didn't work.

We stayed for a night out of the 3 we booked, since we had an emergency. They promised they'd honor our cancelation since Expedia approved it, but they never provided approval from their side. The night we did stay there the room was dirty, we found dead cockroaches and it smelled weird.

Main light as you come in door was out. No hot water at night. Front desk said it was due to alot of checkins. Had hot water in the morning. Room updated and looked nice but flooring had gaps, so not very well done. "Adequate" ...if thats what youre looking for.

It was a nice room

We had never stayed on this side of Kansas City, but decided to try it. The hotel had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try, and wow... we were pleasantly surprised. When we checked in, the front desk was very friendly and helpful in getting us to our room. It was seamless, and there was never a wait to get on the elevators. The room was clean, smelled fresh, and was well stocked. The amenities were nicely done, and the room was well designed. One of the best things was the large shower, which had great water pressure, with plenty of hot water. The pillows were a little soft (needed to have firmer options available), but overall, comfortable bed and sleeper sofa. Each morning, we enjoyed breakfast downstairs, where the staff greeted us with a "good morning, how are you?" and they were eager to clear our table when we were finished with our meal. The breakfast had so many choices- scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, biscuits, pastries, fresh fruits, and the list goes on and on. We were very impressed with the choices and cleanliness. The upstairs deck area was fabulous. The area was very relaxing, with plenty of tables and lounge areas to sit. The food was delicious, and the staff were very attentive in making sure our food was served and beverages refilled. I've stayed at other Embassy Suites over the years, but this was the nicest yet. I have already booked our room for our next stay in Kansas City. Highly recommend.
