Boulder Dam Hotel

We liked the location. It was conveniently located to the LAS airport. Conveniently located to restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There was nothing we didn't like about the Boulder Dam Hotel. Thank you.

Good location, close to restaurants. Beautiful historic building.

Paper thin walls...could hear everything from other guests. Bathroom could use a small table so toiletries don't have to sit on floor. No in room coffee.

We loved our stay. Staff and hotel with the accompanying 1933 Restaurant and the basement lounge Cleveland’s were all we needed of on site amenities. It’s important to note, this is an old hotel, built in 1933, rooms and especially the bathrooms are smaller than the newer hotels, but that’s where the charm lies and well worth the trade. Bed and room were comfortable. There’s an awesome museum on the first floor with a deep look into the building of the Hoover Dam. Within a short walking distance, there are shops, boutiques, restaurants, ice cream, coffee, breweries, antiques, souvenirs, heck you name it. Within a short drive are parks, scenic drives, scenic walks, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead National Reserve and casinos. We spent 7 days here and it almost wasn’t long enough.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, but a couple of items that would have been nice. Rooms don’t have coffee or microwaves, they do have a small refrigerator. The hotel offers a central free coffee area, a microwave in that same area would have been a plus or better yet in the room : ) Our room had a big closet, nice! But there was no drawers or shelves to keep you clothes, also an easy add and would be beneficial to guests.

The Boulder Dam Hotel is a historic hotel, built during the construction of Boulder (Hoover) Dam. There is a large fireplace in the 2-story lobby which adds to the historic atmosphere. Many rooms are themed for one of the celebrities who visited the hotel in its early days: our room was the Shirley Temple room. The room was not too large, bur very clean and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant, which was comparable to many coffee shops but in a historic atmosphere. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful at both check-in and check-out.

There is a separate room where free coffee is offered for hotel guests, but the coffee wasn't too fresh and my wife drinks tea, which was not available.
