I loved that it was a nice older hotel that felt like going back in time. The rooms were nice, furnished with antiques with a sternwheeler theme. The location was walking distance from everything. There was a rooftop patio where you could sit & watch the paddlewheelers, barges & other boats go by or watch the moon rise. Very charming!
The view, the area, lots to see and do. Felt safe, very clean great area, will be back. Very walkable, good parking.
Excellent location on the river and close to downtown. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are quaint and the bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Highly recommend the king room with a river view. The included breakfast was good.
Historical hotel that has tons of charm and still being maintained very well.
I knew the property was old and was expecting old charm. However, I was disappointed because they do not seem to keep up with cleaning and there was a musty odor through the property. The room was small and the chair and bed were uncomfortable. Only spent one night so it was ok. The location is awesome right on the river with restaurants and shopping all around.

Kitchen closed at 9 pm but there are options nearby. Ceiling fan didn’t work but A/C did very well on a very hot night. Much history in Marietta.
Wish they had a small fridge in the room. Loved the rooftop deck improvements. They keep this such a secret!
Wallpaper mold in open closet . Hard to find parking other than that the hotel was historically authentic.
The Lafayette has an excellent restaurant with a good deal of character.
