"Beautiful relaxing place"

10.0

Our senior tour trip stayed here for three nights while visiting the Amish country. It is centrally located within all the sites for the area so we were able to leave out in the morning and return late afternoon to refresh and then go back out for dinner and a show. I had a king room which had the sitting area with 2 chairs and ottomans, microwave and refrigerator and tv and down the hall was the vanity area with bathroom off to left. My king bed was a poster bed with all stately furniture, very impressive. There was a tv to watch from the bed. We had a private breakfast prepared for our group which was very nice in their banquet area. Fresh fruits and pastries, eggs and bacon, coffee and juice. Very well done. I would definitely recommend this place for your quaint experience. It was no more in cost than your chain hotels and much more cozier and relaxing.

"Severely disappointed"

6.0

I wanted to love this Inn, but it was by far the most disappointing part about our trip to Lancaster. The first night we arrived the doorman was very kind and helpful, and showed us to our room which was very pretty and spacious. We were in the Bridal suite, which we noticed do not have a couch but a single lounge chair in front of the fireplace/tv which is kind of odd since you assume you’re going to that room with another person and you probably both want to enjoy the fireplace? So that was just weird. Then, the room came with a jacuzzi tub which we wanted to use. It had black flakes pouring out of the tub as soon as we turned it on. Also, there was like flakes of skin as if someone had exfoliated a lot and it just hadn’t been cleaned. Mood killer, super gross. We informed them the next day and they were apologetic and had people clean the room. We also ordered room service the first night, which our phones didn’t work and we couldn’t connect to anyone in the hotel and had to call in from outside which was annoying as we kept having to go through the menu options to get to the restaurant and then we were on hold- it was a pain but we didn’t have many options the night before Valentine’s Day. We ordered a salami and bruschetta platter and vegetable fettuccini and crème brûlée. It was average at best. The bread had black marks like it had been seared on a pan but was soft and soggy- this is just one example of just how it was just bizarrely mediocre. As if it had been pulled from the freezer and reheated. Oh and I ordered two club sodas (seltzer water) and they delivered just plain water. All around just very disappointing. We knew we couldn’t order again for Valentines (the next day) which had been our plan and it was kind of ruined, so we literally just got take out because we weren’t paying for subpar food. Then the second night on Valentine’s Day we got back to our room at 5:30 and hear all these people talking like clear as day in our room. After investigating we discover we are directly above the billiard room and the noise went on for hours until we called and asked if there were quiet hours which it was at 10pm. Again, super unromantic and a huge bummer for a room that is $450 a night. We definitely weren’t going to use that jacuzzi and we put on a movie to drown out the talking the whole night. We wanted a romantic night in a lovely room and that definitely didn’t happen. Really sad we paid over $1100 for just a terrible experience. If you do come and stay here do not get the bridal suite and don’t order room service! Maybe it would have been better if we went to the restaurant? I don’t know but just beware! Photos will show what I’m talking about :/

The restaurant was always full, so we ate at the bar - very good food, drinks & staff. We should have made reservations before we arrived. Only down side was carrying luggage up 1/2 flight of stairs for the first floor.
