"Search for somewhere else... ANYWHERE!"

It started in the parking lot. Cluttered and unkempt. A couple vehicles looked like they were loved in, onsite. For 3 days they never moved. When attempting to check in we were told that one of our to rooms had been canceled. We had a reservation conformation and everything. The clerk at the desk said she only had "paperwork" for the one room and couldn't look up the number as the "manager" was the only one with access. So she called them and he came. He was of no help at all and told us to call Windham ourselves. They could get us another room but only for one night. We checked in for the other room and made the call. Two different Windham calls and noone could tell is who or why o e room was cancelled. We were then told "maybe someone will cancel tomorrow and you can stay". We told them we were not gonna check out, take our stuff, and hopefully have a place for the next night. "Refund us the first room and we will just go somewhere else." They were not willing to do that and said they would just "cancel someone elses room for tomorrow night." Double queen instead of a king. After getting to our rooms and looking at reviews, this seems to happen quite regularly at this lodge. There looked like a renovation had been attempted by the obvious lost bidder. Wooden floor tiles in 2 colors had been pieced in on the bathroom walls with the ceramic tile. Even in the shower where the soap dish had been glued back together and among the mildew. The outlets had been cut into the wall with a circular saw, and colors were messed onto adjoining walls. Parking lot was loud. We found out why when we opened the blinds and found that the locking interior window was half missing(only one side), the screen was half out and the storm window was single pane. Floor level... just come on in. Breakfast t was anything but fast as there was one waffle make and one pancake maker...no juice, no fruit, and the coffee creamer( hazelnut and french vanilla)were empty. "Mocha" creamer was just hot chocolate powder. It was also slow as you basically lined up outside a closet size room and the lack of space when someone tried to butter their waffle or cakes meant the next person couldn't even get theirs started. Getting tired of writing. The room had no soap, shampoo, cups, one set of towels...

Rooms were devoid of any normal items. There were no coffee pots, clock, wall art, or even a fire escape plan. We had two beds and a TV. Not even cups to drink from. The breakfast bar consisted of waffles and coffee. There was no milk, juice, or peanut butter/jelly. Very disappointed with the hotel.

The place is a dump. Checking in there was nobody at the desk. Had to call him. The paperwork went smooth. Room was dirty. Diet ridges pushed up at edges of the floor. No cups, no waste basket, air conditioner wasnโ€™t running. The room didnโ€™t cool off until after midnight. All the furniture was beat up. Sheets were clean. Towels were clean. Smart TV with limited access to channels. Tub faucet only provided lukewarm water. Parking was limited. Had to park across the street because several contractor trailers were taking up parking spaces.

"Disappointing"

I am very disappointed with my stay at Travelodge in Shakopee. The floor was sticky in our room. The shower didnโ€™t work. Hot water in the sink only for a few seconds. No drinking cups in the room. Only beverage at breakfast was coffee. No milk, no juice. When I addressed these issues with the manager on duty, he was very curt and condescending.

Front desk was supposed to be 24 hours but was closed when we got there and there was no way to get a hold of them as their phone wasn't working. We got lucky someone came by the desk after we had been there for 20 minutes. Heater in room did not work. Turned it on it made a bad burning smell then shut down and set off the smoke detector in the room. Breakfast consisted of either pancakes or waffles and orange juice, nothing else. I will not stay there nor will I recommend for others to stay there.

Hotel called at 4:00 pm and said they had to charge a credit card that was not discover. I booked my reservation through Expedia and used Discover, but they insisted I had to give them another card over the phone or they may cancel my reservation. They said they donโ€™t accept discover. When I went to check in later in the evening, they had a sign on the front desk saying that they accepted Discover. They ripped the sticker off the desk and said I had to pay with another card. They did not have two rooms for me with two beds each per my reservation. Door to my room would not shut. My wife could not get it shut. I had to slam it had to shut it all weekend.
