Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel

I initiate like the airport shuttle idea. Renaissance managed their service poorly. Staff very unhelpful. No kettles in room Not the right fit if you have little children Did not give me water coming in. Their water bottles are about a 50 to 100ml size. Very small. You need to bring your own water. Staff asked me to use the Coffee make r to boil water for a 2 Yr old food. The coffee maker brought out very dirty, frothy water which could cause poisoning if I did not check out the ware first before putting it in the cereal. I have always loved renaissance hotel. The first experience I had with renaissance was in Africa. It was divine. I am guessing it is a franchise of some sort. I have not been to one in America. I would likely never go a renaissance hotel ever aagian again. Their coach or airport shuttle was delayed over 40mins. All he other airport shuttle came at least once and some twice before renaissance appeared. No apologise for the inconvenience anywhere. Not like I needed it to survive. The carpet at the hotel stunk on the corridor even on the highest level and in the rooms. The rooms are small for their prices and dirty. The carpets stink. . Their bathrooms outdated with small white porcelain tiles. It is a long time I have seen that one. Decor uniform all the way through the hotel. I had to go downstairs to the lobby with my little one anytime I called for anything even for the water they failed to give us when we were coming in. The staff could not customise service delivery to fit guest needs. Staff said they do not have room service in the hotel. I ended up buying water from the hotel. I came down to get hot water as no kettle in the room each time I dragged my little one along so we could not really rest until we went to bed finally. My little one was quite unsettled and couldn't get to settle

I didnot like that staff could not customise service.. I paid for breakfast did not have any. It is also full price to cancel this hotel whilst others with similar had a zero dollar cancellation fee.

Not a bad hotel, but not impressive with errors and a suite that seems to have issues that become more glaring with each passing day. Overall, a 6.5/10.0

The front desk staff was very nice! The shuttle drivers were polite and accommodating. The curtains didn't close in the middle - they closed all the way to the side, so I didn't have to use the hinge clips on a hanger to close them in the middle to block out morning light, which was awesome! The water pressure in the shower was wonderful.

There were hand towels and bath towels in the bathroom, but no wash-cloths. There was no microwave in my room, no bar on the premises, and the hotel didn't offer breakfast or have room service. The front desk staff gave me two takeout menus for delivery; however, upon ordering delivery the night I checked in (when I finally got to my room after 40 minutes since checking in at the front desk), the delivery driver was not allowed to deliver to my room, so I had to get dressed again and go down to the lobby to pick up my own delivery order. The WORST part was there were only two of three elevators working, and they were both very slow. This inconvenience was greatly compounded by the about 200 high schoolers staying there that weekend, crowding the elevators, and being very noisy in the hallways. Inquiries were made about unlocking access to the staircases by several guests, but said requests were denied, so after an 8-hour flight, navigating airports, etc., after check-in, it took over 40 minutes to get into my room from the front desk. I feel like that isn't normal nor acceptable, especially it it could've been prevented/rectified.
