"Standard 3 Star Hotel"

6.0

I thought I took photos, but now I can’t find them in my phone. Either way, the Residence Inn in Arlington is a reliable 3 star business hotel, conveniently located within walking distance of Rosslyn Metro station and several restaurants, a Target, and a Safeway. While the front desk staff are courteous, they did seem like they were a bit overtasked ass the few times I went to the front desk it was clear that they were busy trying to handle several things at once (I assume this is probably how most hotels are run these days to maximize efficiency). The rooms are pretty standard for this class of hotel, spacious and studio like with a small kitchenette. There is also a small gym, which while not huge does have well maintained equipment that are fine for your most standard workouts. While one’s expectations shouldn’t be too high for this class of property, there are some drawbacks: the whole property feel as though it needs a remodel, and that maintenance is perhaps overwhelmed or falling behind. The breakfast, which is complimentary, is pretty sad and after trying it once I didn’t go back (a colleague who stayed at this property shortly after I did agreed). Most of the breakfast items seem to be premade and microwaved, which isn’t surprising but also was not very appetizing. Overall, solid hotel for business, but it is indeed of an update soon.

"Pleasant stay and would stay here again."

This hotel was very nice. It was clean and nicely decorated. The rooms were decently sized for a 1-bedroom hotel room. The shower pressure was amazing and "endless" hot water it seemed. There were two TV's, one in the bedroom and one in the living area. It had a kitchenette with dishwasher, microwave and range top. Also a full size refrigerator with ice maker in the freezer. Be aware there is no street parking or a parking lot nearby. There are several restaurants within a 5-10 minute walking distance and the metro is 2 blocks over. There is also a Target within 1 block which makes things easier. The room did have ample furniture - almost too much. We had a small computer desk with rolling office chair, a dining table with two chairs, and another larger desk by the window. The bedroom had two end tables, a wire rack with clothes hangers. It also had some solid shelves for things under the wire rack and in room safe. The queen size bed was comfortable and soft as well as the pillows. There was an A/C and heat unit that was thermostatically controlled. You set the temp and it auto-decided heat or A/C. It was a little loud as the return was in the bedroom and it vibrated and rattled quite a bit. You do get used to it.

The "Enseo" TV system isn't the best. It's a specific hotel TV system that takes over the controls of the TV and the remote is clunky to use at times or didn't work. The volume would randomly change on the TV from normal to super load then back. You do have to pay for daily parking which seems a little ridiculous when you're a guest, however, it does seem to be the norm for the area though. We specifically moved hotels despite this hotel being more expensive - the parking at the other hotel made the total cost higher. So do total pricing when comparison shopping. With the amount of furniture and a family of 4 it could be somewhat crowded. We left the sofa bed out most of the time which added to the crowdedness, but we moved the smaller desk into the bedroom to get it out of the way. The sofa bed is thing and most uncomfortable for an adult. The kids of course don't care usually.

A experience. The hospitality specialist who I worked with upon checking in to the Residence Inn, her name is Amber. She is an amazing asset to the establishment. She was friendly, efficient, organized, knowledgeable and she was able to quickly answer or resolve any issues or clarify any questions we had. The room, it's was awesome also, but I'll recommend my friends and family come here from the excellent customer service. This is a real review that I wrote on December 26th, 2024, for those of you interested in details. Parking is $29 but it's under the hotel in a secure and closed garage that has an elevator directly to the inside of the building. All of the elevators are surprisingly fast. The rooms are beautiful, everything was spotless and so nice to have real utensils and a fridge and microwave and oven in the unit. You can tell that the owners and staff are directly involved with the upkeep of this building. Going on 26 years old as I write this review, as the building was built in 1999 but to see the inside and the grounds you would think it was built in the last decade. Anyway, for people who might be on the fence about getting a room at this location, don't hesitate. The entire process has been the smoothest I've ever experienced and I travel a lot and stay in all types of accommodations.

"The best hotel stay I have ever had!"

10.0

I stayed at the Residence Inn in mid November. I have never been treated so well by staff. Whether it was maintenance, housekeeping or the front desk… I truly felt like a guest! A special shout out to Youness! So poised, so knowledgeable and was responsible for setting the tone for this stay.

Subway access was good. I like clean room. However, fridge was noisy, loyalty program registration was not clear.
