No adequate WiFi

Just wanted to share my experience at this particular H.I. because there are several to choose from in the greater Ft. Lauderdale area. Checked in on February 27th, 2026, in prep for a cruise. We wanted to stay a few days in the area to experience the neighborhood before our trip. Checking in was difficult (because it was the height of cruise season and we were so close to the Cruise Port. There were massive amounts of people trying to do the same, but it was doable. After a time, we finished our check-in with the front desk staff and were off to our room. Our thoughts and observations for the 5 days: * check in staff are efficient and friendly * at first appearance, the room seemed clean but was lacking in several areas, such as towels, etc. * we walked in our socks, and you couldn't believe how filthy they became even after a few minutes * you don't want to look under the bed for anything because it's just so disgustingly filthy with hair, wrappers, food, other detritus materials, just to name a few * Hampton Inn usually requires a sign at the front desk indicating no room service (for 3 days) unless requested. There is a small waiver/statement on your check-in paperwork stating as such at this location. If you want your bedding/towels changed, you have to ask beforehand * the breakfast area is small and very, very crowded during cruise embarkation days. Better get there early if you want to have anything to eat before the herds arrive. They always had hot water and coffee available during non breakfast hours, which was nice * the continental breakfast was comparable to other Hampton Inn's we have stayed at in the past * the room rate, during this high season, was literally about 3x what it is otherwise. We paid about $400 for a Friday night and even more for a Saturday night. In hindsight, you can stay at a Hampton Inn several miles further from the Airport/Cruise Port and save substantial amounts of $$ (and just paying a little extra for transport to the cruise port) All in all: * staff = mostly efficient and friendly * room= much to be desired * breakfast area=small but adequate * parking=adequate but $10 charge a day * distance to cruise port=good * price compared to other Hamptons a few miles away=~30% higher Would we stay there again? Absolutely not. p.s. we got a small credit on our bill for all the inconvenience and lack of attention to detail on the overall service (like no change of towels and no toilet paper change on our last night there, etc., etc., etc.).
