Days Inn by Wyndham Newport OR

We requested handicapped room. When we first got there my husband used the bathroom. He lifted the toilet seat only to have it literally fall off. Luckily it was not me the handicapped person. If I had sat down I would have fallen on the floor. To me this is unacceptable. This should have been caught by the room cleaner when the cleaning was done. We called the office, they had no other handicapped rooms, the office person really didn’t know what to do. My husband went up to the office got a screw driver and fixed it. No we are so sorry, nothing. The receptionist had absolutely no personality at all, even when we checked in before this situation. Same thing when we checked out. No we thank you for staying, so sorry about the toilet. Nothing. We won’t be back This is a basic room. Looks clean till you take a better look around. The mat to put down in the shower was moldy and filthy. The wash clothes looked dingy and unclean. Not a pleasant stay.

Breakfast was lacking. Hostess Cupcakes and Twinkies? Really?

Most parking spots were for compact cars, so parking was challenging! First morning, no shampoo or body wash in the shower. Told clerk at 7:30. At 4:00 when returning to our room, still not done. Another trip to the office. Finally got it done! Ad says breakfast included! Not sure when Twinkies & Hostess cupcakes became breakfast food. There were apples, bananas, yogurt & very stale cereal bars. Also instant oatmeal with no milk, just coffee creamer. Ad should have said grab n go breakfast because we only chose this motel because of the breakfast! We never had coffee for our room, except for the first morning. We won't be returning here!

It’s been a number of years since I’ve stayed and the place has been pleasantly updated from what I remember. It was just an overnight stay in the economy queen room, yet still had all the basic amenities as a much more expensive room. Not a bad walk down the hill to explore either bat front or bye beach areas. I would stay again, if the price remains fair.

A diet soda option in the lobby would be great for me.😊

Price Jacking

Not pet friendly and change prices suddenly.

It was the last room available, so paid extra. The room was huge with a full kitchen (stove, frig, dishwasher, etc.). The bathroom looked brand new, very beautiful! I really liked the live plant in the room❣️

The vertical blinds were outdated and some slats were missing. Parking spaces were too narrow!
