The deluxe king suite was very cozy. Also the old time elevator was a throwback for sure. I loved it.

Shower is very small if you’re a tall person I’m 6’2” so it takes some finagling to shower but it’s very doable

The driveway for dropping off your passengers and bags is very narrow, adequate perhaps for horse and carriage, but barely wide enough for a Dodge RAM Laramie Sport 4x4. Only two handicap parking spaces, so we had to park in an unmonitored, unlit parking lot across the street from the hotel. The rooms are old fashioned, on the small size, but quaint. We were given a corner room which was nice and bright, but didn’t have much of a view. Housekeeping missed a lot in cleaning the bathroom: the mirror hadn’t been cleaned; there were streaks (?) on the front of the toilet which a bleach wipe took care of — and the overall impression of the toilet bowl was that it was dirty. The worst part of the hotel is the elevator to all rooms: to get from the main floor to the elevator door, you have to climb steps (that have no handrails). Having both damaged knees and shoulders, carrying 2 suitcases and a carry-on bag (each) required three precarious trips up and down the stairs for both of us. Not at all ADA-friendly, and just plain dangerous for anyone with disabilities. As we were leaving the hotel, staff told us that we could have someone help us with our bags, but after waiting 20+ minutes in our room, we took the elevator and carried the bags down to the main floor ourselves — which was easier than carrying them up when we got here. The service was very slow in the bar lounge. The food was disappointing, the dinner entree meat was tasteless; side dishes were also disappointing — especially the “salad” which was a few pieces of spring mix (adequate maybe for a pet rabbit or parrot). Breakfast was adequate, an omelet heaped with bland cheese. Passable coffee, but my cup came pre-stained with coffee streaks and lipstick… obviously not my color. Our server wasn’t very observant, serving coffee in a cup that hadn’t been washed. Asked to replace the cup, she stared at me: perhaps she thought that the lipstick was mine? On checkout, I learned that my room rate didn’t have the pre-arranged discount applied for my group. The hotel clerk escalated my inquiry to the hotel manager, who told me that as the hotel was full the previous night, the discount didn’t apply. Huh? Last: one of those attending the meeting I chaired (not at the hotel) had their vehicle broken into during the night. Can’t wait to read their review. Prescott doesn’t have many great hotels — and I think I’ll pass this one up in the future: I don’t expect everything to be perfect, but the climb up the stairs to the hotel elevator is enough to persuade me not to take future chances of breaking my neck there.nig

This is a grand, old hotel which retains some of the glamor of times past. Rooms are a bit small, but they do a good job of including extras like microwaves and mini-fridges. The public areas retain their glory, especially the large main lobby. There is also an outdoor area with umbrellas and tables. There is a small bar that cascades into a lounge with music in the evenings. The main dining room seems recently remodeled and the food is good, though not remarkable. It is an easy walk to the city green and a ton of restaurants and bars (Whiskey Row). Just across the street is new, modern and ambitious restaurant called RWB
