Hotel Villa Margherita

La camera era molto ampia. Il personale è stato estremamente accogliente. Il ristorante di ottima qualità.

We had a lovely 7 night stay here. The hotel was spotless and our room looking out to sea was perfect. The staff were all incredibly helpful and polite, quickly resolving a cot being made up in error for our 14 year old! 🤣 when we arrived. The pool area always had plenty of space with lovely gardens surrounding it and with drinks/ snacks just a push of a button away which was fab. The breakfast was just right we always found plenty we all liked. We ate in the restaurant a few times and found the food incredible with Alfredo and the team offering a first class service. The town has lots of lovely restaurants to choose from and while we were there they was always something happening in the square behind the hotel. There are a number of beaches within walking distance. The hotel have a number of excursions you can join by boat or bus (as we didn’t hire a car on this occasion), they even accommodated a last minute request from us, the bus tour we joined was excellent and a great opportunity to meet other fellow travellers and see other parts of the island. We also chose to hire e-bikes during our stay with a company based in San Pantaleo who delivered the bikes to the hotel and picked them back up, the hotel staff again happily advised where we could keep the bikes secured overnight and to charge them. The hotel is located near some great trails suitable for bikes running or hiking passing other beaches on your travels. We cycled up to Capo Figari where the views at the top were amazing and enjoyed running several routes around the area.

We absolutely loved our week long stay at the Hotel Villa Margherita. A beautiful family hotel in such a lovely setting, with very friendly and helpful staff. The pool, while not massive, was perfect to cool down and to keep the kids happy and was right next to the large garden area. Some days we stayed around the pool (never any problems getting a lounger) and some days we took the hire car out to explore the island (so the free car park was great). We stayed half board and had a different, tasty, four course meal every night. The children were able to mix and match from the adults and children’s menu which meant they could try a few new things too. The location of the hotel is great - an easy walk one way to the beach and a short stroll the other to the night market, bars and restaurants. The only niggle we had was the the beds were very firm - a mattress topper would have made all the difference to them. Overall a lovely hotel and we’d happily return.

Villa Margherita in Golfo Aranci, Sardinia, will be our new home base, and we can’t say enough about the wonderful family and staff who run it. The hotel, grounds, and pool are all immaculate, and the location in a charming fishing village is perfect. With plenty of restaurants, shops, a brewery, a marina, and a beautiful beach, there is so much to do. The warm and friendly locals truly make the town special. The hotel staff is a perfect blend of professional and sincere. The restaurant is expertly run, offering a delicious breakfast buffet with amazing coffee and fancy, yet reasonably priced, dinners. The receptionists are cheerful and always willing to help. Monica spoke perfect English and helped us with our many questions. The head waiter, Alfredo, and his staff are outstanding, paying close attention to every detail. We chose the convenient half-board option, which includes breakfast and dinner. Each day we had drinks by the pool served by their amazing bartender Francesco. For those who want to continue their fitness routines, they have a small gym that must be reserved. Additionally, there are sidewalks and quiet roads to walk or run. The location is ideal for exploring the eastern and northern parts of Sardinia, There are many towns just a day trip away. After a day of exploring, returning to Villa Margherita feels like coming home. We are already planning to make this an annual trip and hope to bring our family next time.
