The staff at The Sanctuary know what excellent customer service is about. The property is beautiful, both help to create a memorable getaway experience. We will visit again!

The hotel is beautifully situated on the beach, if you're up for being a bit away from things. Everything is well arranged with free parking on site and buggies available to take your luggage (and you to your room). The main lobby is beautiful and was nicely done up for Christmas. For dog owners, there were so many thoughtful touches, including a stick library, which was very sweet. (We didn't come with a dog, but enjoyed it none-the-less). The front-desk staff were extremely welcoming and check-in was easy. We were delighted to find that we'd be upgraded to a beachfront suite as we were celebrating an extended honeymoon and we had a bottle of Prosecco and macarons waiting for us. They were such a thoughtful touches and really made our stay. The room was beautiful, nicely laid out, very comfortable and very clean. We loved the fireplace! The one thing was that the fire was the only source of heat and wasn't adjustable. It wasn't a major issue but did mean the room was either quite cold or hot. We loved the nightly bonfires that are kept topped up by staff, it was a lovely way to experience the beach. The pool and hot-tub were great as well - we had sole use of them the evening we went down. One thing to note is making it very clear that there is a code needed to enter - we had to run back to the room in robes once we'd realised that. Both our room service dinner and breakfast were great and nicely presented - we enjoyed that we had a sofa and table so could enjoy them with plenty of room. The one major let down was the dining experience at the Salt Wood Kitchen. We had partly booked as the restaurant looked great and we knew we wouldn't want to drive to go out for food, so that was important. We saved going for our second night when we heard the Jazz was on in the restaurant. We were looking forward to what we thought would be a lovely, elevated evening of oysters, drinks, good food and music. What we found was a VERY busy open plan restaurant with way too much going on. The jazz was on but the poor man was completely drowned out by the wedding happening in the next room. We weren't informed that this was happening when we called to book and it was completely disruptive to our evening. They had a loud DJ and there was no door separating the space, just a curtain. We also had a group of about 20 guys directly next to us and the door was constantly opening and we were directly in the draft. We shared food and only had three glasses of wine between us and the bill came to nearly $200. The food was decent but hard to enjoy in the chaos. We also weren't informed that the main we both wanted was sold out until we went to order (and they had checked in several times). They did throw in a very tasty ice cream as we were celebrating, which was appreciated. But the experience left a lot to be desired and given it was the only restaurant on site, ever so slightly tainted our otherwise very positive experience at the hotel.

Great resort and beach. Gorgeous location. Staff ready to help at all times. Carson, Zach, Shayaine excellent staff. Beautifully maintained. Easy beach accmess. Oyster shell decoupage class was lots of fun and highly recommended. The initial problem with hot water late night was quickly corrected. Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Ocean Front Suite. Will go back for sure! Final recommendation: Salt Wood restaurant great breakfast but could add more vegetarian entrees in the menu.
