Quality Inn Petoskey

Check in and out are easy. Room was nice and roomy. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Nice shower. I did see some black on the wall behind the commode and it looked liked mold, but the rest of the room was good. It was a good two night stay.

On main highway

Our room smelled musty and it affected our sleep. Had to buy some fabreeze

Breakfast was excellent. The room did have a musty smell by the first bed.

The location

The bed was very hard, it smelled like mildew, no view from our room but a brick wall, room wall was up against the kitchen so was woke up (from what little sleep we had)at 6 am to metal banging chairs moving around noise of people talking. The air conditioner/fan make horrible noises. Shut it off but couldn’t stand the mildew smell so kept turning it back on. When we first got there and seen the room I was extremely disappointed with the view and smell. Asked the front desk if we could switch rooms and she said there was a queen room that was more expensive but was still facing the wall. 250.00 and coming from an hour+ away, I would’ve expected better. We will not be staying there again :(

The staff was horrible! They did not smile, were not friendly at all, did not tell us anything about the facility (breakfast being served, where to get ice, the pool area etc), gave us the key and pointed to the hall our room was. Key did not work and had to go back to front desk. They gave us a “handicap” room on first floor facing parking lot, could not open curtains at all! Very small sink area. Shower needed some kind of rubber mat in the tub, VERY slippery especially for a handicap room. Shower made a loud whining sound went on. Air conditioner, made a loud rattling sound when it was on. When we left in the evening to get dinner, the two employees behind the desk did not look up or acknowledge or speak to us at all (and there was no one else in the lobby that they were helping). Hopefully this is the only AmericInn like this. You definitely need to have a friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast was good. Lots of selections to choose from.

Nice Staff and clean comfortable room. Breakfast was the usual hotel food. Downside was the hot tub was not working. No bubbles and lukewarm

My husband and I were traveling with my son and his wife. We spent 2 days in Petoskey. AmericInn was the hotel with the best lake views. I was looking for a hotel with a hot tub and continental breakfast and AmericInn did not disappoint. We loved the breakfast. I especially liked the biscuits & gravy and the waffle maker was a big hit. They also had free water in the lobby which was also a big hit with all the guests.

Very nice and overall what we expected!
