I was locked out of my room at 11:30 pm because booking.com didn't process my change of date 12 hours earlier the same day. Had to argue with the desk clerk for close to an hour while trying to get customer service to process the date change that I'd requested 12 hours earlier in the day. It was very disturbing for me and I made it disturbing for the clerk because I wasn't allowed into my room for at least an hour and I needed to get to sleep because I was traveling in the morning. I'd paid for the room already and put in a request for a change of date in the morning after realising I'd chosen the wrong date. I wasn't allowed to make changes online so had to call customer service service number at least 8 times to get a human being on the line who could assist me because previous attempts were answered by a computer trying to get me to take a survey and couldn't help with anything else. Very frustrating. To top it off when change was finally processed the clerk had to insist it be done while he was on the phone with the representative to insure payment went through. I was standing right at front desk listening. First desk clerk was told it was done but payment didn't show up in his system that's when he told representative from booking.com to keep him on line until it was processed. I was very angry and upset because I was locked out of my room until after midnight when the problem was supposed to have been settled 12 hours earlier. In fact 2 men entered my room while I was in bed! The desk clerk thought the room was unoccupied! This is what caused my 1st trauma. The 2nd was being denied entry back into my room when I came to the front desk to explain what had happened earlier that morning with the change of dates. In addition when the change was finalised after midnight they charged me at the walk in rate even though I'd been at the hotel for 3 days and have sent me an email saying I owe booking.com a little over $7.
