Sprucewood Inn

The price was affordable and it was convenient for the one night we needed it. The room was fairly clean (if you didn't look behind the nightstand).

The bathroom door did not close well (if you closed it all the way, it was almost impossible to open. We got to the breakfast with about 30 minutes left and there wasn't anything but a piece of fruit left.

Many maintenance problems. Two lights out. Diverter in shower only semi-functional. Toilet paper holder broken. Ice bucket full of junk.

Booked through Expedia, got to the hotel and had to pay a $100 deposit that was NEVER mentioned on Expedia or google. The property had a creepy feeling. Hair was all over in the bathroom including the tub, no hand soap or trash can. Toilet paper crammed into the bathroom wall holes, hairdryer was melted, tissue box and coffee pot were disgusting. Ceiling paint was chipping, Outlets didn't work and neither did the lights by the beds, then I found what looked like a bedbug in the bathroom. We told the front desk guy and he said he will tell Housekeeping. While we were getting our stuff to leave, I contacted Expedia to let them know the conditions and to get a refund, Expedia contacted the hotel and by the time we got downstairs to the office, the guy was coming out to tell us we had to leave immediately and he was extremely rude! He tossed our deposit money at us and walked away without any apologies
