Hampton Inn Ft. Chiswell-Max Meadows

Our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke so the hotel moved us to another room. The room did not have any cups and there was no coffee. The bed was missing a top sheet. We usually don't write negative reviews, but when we had to make our own bed at 11pm at night, that was too much. The room was not clean. I asked the desk agent if the room had been cleaned and she said probably. The hall carpet was extremely filthy, like a cheap motel. The side door by the elevator was propped open and the agent told us the lock was broken. This is unsafe. We asked for a discount because of all the issues and she said it could not be given because we had booked at the lowest rate?? We booked at whatever the rate was at the time. She then said no discount because we booked on a third party site. We did not. We booked through Hilton Honors. I filed a complaint online with Hilton and they did not respond. We always book Hampton Inn for our travels, and we had actually stayed at this one before. Never again. Awful! If they had responded to our concerns in any way at all I would not have written this review. As a side note, we had stayed at two other Hampton Inn hotels on this trip and they were fine.

Only one night and it was nice and comfortable.

Parking was safe. I don't know about the hot tub

Stayed there for two nights and came back with bed bug bites. Room had a strange odor. Do not recommend this hotel!

Hotel is old and needs some updating. Hall carpets need cleaning.

The breakfast was the best we have had after a week on the road.
