Super 8 by Wyndham Fruita

The hotel is a good, basic, and quiet place to stay. Breakfast was a bit small, and the coffee could use some help. Overall, a good place to stay.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Property is well kept and clean. I didn't use the pool. The breakfast area is clean and pretty well stocked- seems like more so on certain days, but not a big deal. They provide trash cans everywhere inside and outside so people won't just throw trash in common areas. The parking is good, and I saw them walking the lot and picking up trash outside every day. The cable TV went out one morning, but didn't seem like it was anything the staff could do and it came back by 7am. My room was a little more beat up than the other rooms I have stayed in. The screen was bent, the cover on the A/C controls was broken and had a sharp edge, so I took it off. They used to have an extra table in the room, to put stuff on and this is the second time it's been missing. I'm not sure if they got rid of the extra table in the King bed rooms, but I wish they would put it back. The recliner chair was missing the reclining lever. I didn't need it but someone else might. The room was clean and everything else worked and aside from the noisy family upstairs, it was quiet. None of these small issues were a deal breaker, I will stay there again next summer :) The location is perfect for biking and restaurants and a short drive to anything else you might want. The mexican restaurant across the street is really good and there is fast food walking distance if the kids don't like real food.

What a disappointment the Super 8 in Fruita, CO, was for our intended stay on 13-16 August 2025. The toilet didn't flush properly and the bathtub drained very slowly. We brought it to the attention of management at the front desk on Thursday morning, 14 August, and asked it to be fixed or another room. When we returned that afternoon, the manager informed us she had submitted a maintenance request, "but he has 3 properties to maintain" and couldn't get to our room. Only a "pet-friendly" room was available. When we said that that was not acceptable, we said we had paid for a "pet-free" room. Because of the on-going Palisade Peach Festival, the manager informed us that all the hotels were booked up. Still, we didn't understand why the toilet and bathtub drain in our room had not been fixed that day--especially since Super 8 was anticipating being fully booked. Since we couldn't accept the pet-friendly room, the manager cancelled our reservation and returned ONLY our $30 deposit. Then, she said, "OH, GOOD, I CAN SELL THIS ROOM TONIGHT!" I immediately protested that she would have the audacity to sell a room with a non-functioning toilet and bathtub drain to some unsuspecting traveler! She then picked up the phone to call the maintenance man, who "was on his day off." My husband and I walked out of the Super 8 asking ourselves, "WHY HADN'T SUPER 8's MANAGER PICKED UP THE PHONE THAT MORNING TO ENSURE OUR ROOM WAS IN WORKING ORDER THAT AFTERNOON?"

Good hotel for the price.
