Red Roof Inn Canton, TX

This place looked decent in the photos. But man, it was so dirty. It was a non smoking room but still smelled like old cigarette smoke. Base boards looked like they haven’t been cleaned in years. Stains on the chair and what is up with that bed frame??? New flooring.. that was popping up. Stubbed my toe! Checked out early!

We stayed here while visiting family in Canton and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. Being an economy hotel, it simply offers the essentials. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was great, the room was clean and the WiFi worked well. Can't ask for much more than that. The guestrooms and lobby appear to have been renovated recently as well. Would stay here again when visiting the area.

Good stay if you are a first timer to Canton. Rooms just needs some general maintenance and updating. Bed were not comfortable and the bathtub, shower head, caulking and flooring all needs to be redone.

Shower temp was extreme, either blazing hot or freezing cold. Entire bathroom/plumbing needs to be updated. A/C did not circulate air well probably because vents were missing. Walls are paper thin but bed was comfortable enough or may have been exhaustion.

There were black marks on the bathtub floor such that neither my wife nor I were willing to risk standing on them. We left without using the shower. The telephone could not call the front desk. Wife reported issue to no avail leaving us with no ability to call the front desk in an emergency or other support. Manager not wearing a mask during check-in. Another guest walked into lobby not wearing a mask and manager did not correct her.

You can go 30 miles in any direction and do much better than this! We paid the price gouging double amount to stay Saturday night during trade days. We walked in to a renovated room that does not fix bad service and uncleanliness. The sheets were dirty and there was hair in the tub and around the toilet. The bathtub stopper didn’t fit. There was a very loud fight in the parking lot between 10-11 pm. Then at 7:45am Sunday morning management knocked on our door (we were asleep) and said there was a noise complaint on us! Coffee was terrible and “breakfast” isn’t worth looking at. The bed didn’t fit the frame and the mattress was incredibly hard. When the next door room flushed the toilet we heard it all night. We heard every shower around us. For $160/night KEEP DRIVING!! There are many BnB’s in the area as well. We regret trying the motel for trade days. BEWARE!

Enjoyed our stay. Staff was accommodating seeing that our rooms were next to each other. Will stay again. Traveling for both business and family outing. Appeared as though bathroom was recently painted/ caulked. Job lacked some professionalism but was clean.
