Red Roof Inn Dayton - Moraine/U of Dayton

Avoid the location like the plague. Even the staff is sketchy, and people were milling around the parking lot. I could not sleep, felt unsafe, and it was noisy. I will never book with Red Roof Inn in the future.

There was a person in my room when I went in, he said he worked there.

PArking was fairly easy, no issues there. Area is a little sketchy. AC worked. Half of the lamps in the room did not have any lightbulbs, the mini fridge was set to freezing when I arrived, and the TV was basically unusable for the entire week long stay. Still, overall room was decent, and staff were available to help when I needed it.

We booked the property about an hour before we arrived. When we saw the property (around 7:00 pm) there wasn't a single car in the lot. Much more concerning was a group of about 8 men loitering in the parking lot. My husband and I were in separate cars and we drove past, unwilling to even pull in the parking lot. No way would we have stayed there...very unsafe. Unfortunately, I notified them immediately that we wanted to cancel our reservation, but they would not. Not happy, but wasn't going to risk our safety.

This hotel is absolutely horrendous!! The minute I pulled up to the door, I noticed the poorly maintain property with all the sketchy people outside. Inside my room the faucet was shaking loose ,toilet was leaking on the floor and floors were extremely dirty. I pulled a pubic hair out from the hotel towels and then decided not to shower . The floor air conditioner was making a misty raw septic smell . The TV did not work properly and the curtains were broken. All night people were smoking cigarettes outside of my door and slamming doors . The next morning i spoke to management 2 Indian gentlemen of my displeasure with the hotel . This was the worst of the worst !!

I was assured the room was smoke free and any smoking guests had designated smoking areas. This is a lie - there are no designated smoking areas. Smokers and pot-heads are smoking right outside of your door, and the window AC unit draws all that pot smoke right into you room. I could not sleep the first night, and asked to be relocated due to the headache from all pot I had to breath. So they relocated me to another room on the second floor. There were smokers there too, although less smoke entered the room. But the phone was not working, the toilet was not firmly attached, leaking sewer water on the floor, there was no soap. They offered to relocate me again, but the only other room available had so many smokers congregating, that there was less smoke outside than inside, once AC window units pull that air inside. So I insisted they fix my toilet so the place does not smell like sewage. They said they would, but no-one ever came. Overall, the place was filthy and disguising, the microwave oven in the common area had remnants of food splashed all over it with a sign that read "last chance - keep clean." I would look elsewhere.

Did not like a room on the 2nd floor with the first floor empty. Very surprised at the request for an additional $100 deposit, probably because we had a dog, but it was refunded.

Little care for upkeep, including coffee area in office.
