Red Roof Inn Osage Beach - Lake of the Ozarks

We stay here several times every year. This was the worst we have ever seen. The room needed more cleaning, dead bugs, stains on bedding. The first morning for breakfast the food was warm but minimal, they had coffee but very weak and out of juices. The second morning for breakfast they had no coffee but had apple juice. I ate biscuits and gravy and had to cover it with salt and pepper. When we checked out, I think the room was cleaner than we found it. Very sad

Check in was nice enough. We stayed for 3 nights. By the 2nd day, our hallway smelled like a very strong air freshener(that was there from the very beginning)that was there every day, but mixed with a very strong baby poop smell without ever hearing a baby! The air freshener smell was VERY strong! We put towels up against our door to keep out the smell since there was a sizable gap at the bottom. Our cable was not on when the tv power was turned on. I went to call the front desk and wasn’t able to. Our phone didn’t work-pulled the table away only to discover the phone was not plugged into the phone jack. In fact, it wouldn’t plug in!! It went straight on through-never heard the click! So, I had to look it up on my phone to call it in! Front desk came up to help with the cable. Looked at the phone jack and said it probably wouldn’t get fixed by the time we left(it didn’t). The bottom drawer that the tv was on was pushed in so we took pics(because we didn’t want to get charged). There was an outlet in the hallway that had no outlet plate on it. The front doors were filthy and didn’t close all the way. During our checkout, I was prepared to bring up everything, but when the worker saw me with my room cards, she told me to lay them down on the desk and walked away to go do something else. We will not be back to this location.

The room seemed clean. The bathroom light is motion-activated. Thus, one must wave their hand outside the shower curtain to keep from showering in the dark. A gallon of paint would go a long way to improve our room. On the positive side, the bed and pillows were comfortable.

We were unpleasantly surprised at how poorly the property was maintained—inside and out. There was a broken light in the pool area that flashed the entire time we were there. It’s too bad, the hotel is located in a resort town, so we expected it to be well maintained.

Peeling paint, walls and ceiling werent properly sealed. You could see holes. Dirty sheets. We saw at least 2 roaches

Stay on first floor bathroom floors are not up to standard

At check in there appeared to be an electrical issue in the room. A new room was issued immediately, no questions asked.
