Super 8 by Wyndham Austin Downtown/Capitol Area

The location

The room was spacious and clean and the a/c worked very well. The beds were firm (which I prefer). It is easy to get to off the highway. And walking distance to the Moody Amphitheater and an easy drive to downtown.

The bathroom wasn't as clean as it could be. It needed a deep clean and deodorization. As we were only there a few nights it wasn't a big deal but definitely something that should be looked at.

It’s close to downtown and UT Austin. I was there for my child’s orientation at UT Austin it’s only a five minute drive.

Dirty shower, roaches and bugs. Doors didn’t close right we had to place a chair to hold the door closed. No ironing board in any room. We asked. The food was horrible and old and they “put away” the food early so you can’t really have that continental breakfast. The yogurt was old , stale bread and the juice was biter.

Unsere Buchung wurde am Tag der Anreise durch das Hotel storniert trotz vorheriger Aktualisierung der Kreditkarte über Booking.com wie gefordert. Bei Anreise mussten wir neu buchen, gleiche Zimmerkategorie, 30% teurer, mit gleicher Kreditkarte bezahlt, das ist einfach Betrug. Booking.com hat noch nicht auf unsere Beschwerde und Rückforderung des Mehrbetrages reagiert. Der Pool war ungepflegt und schmutzig, Kühlschrank war defekt, wurde zwar getauscht, aber gegen ein genau so altes abgewirtschaftetes Gerät.

Purtroppo la posizione della camera affacciava sull'autostrada. Il riposo, è stato molto disturbato. Se la camera affacciava sul cortile interno (parcheggio del motel) il soggiorno sarebbe stato molto più piacevole

The location is great for taking a quick ride to downtown. Close to shops and places to eat. The Moody Center is close, we took an Uber to a concert there, but walked back. The beautiful state capitol building is near. The swimming pool is nothing to write home about, but we were able to relax and cool off in it. The pool was clean. Staff were polite. We did not check out the breakfast, chose to door dash food and coffee in the morning instead.

The motel is very run down and out dated. You had to go to the desk if you wanted ice, as the other machines were broken. The air conditioner was an old model, however it did cool the room enough to relax. The toilet had bad pressure and you had to flush it at least 2-4 times (even for toilet paper alone). The sink kept clogging up, and the shower curtain would not stay closed, so water always got on the floor. Furniture was old, a strip on the floor was coming loose and easy to trip on. There was black mold on the inside of the bathroom door at the base where the wood was rotting away. The beds were not very comfortable. Bedding and towels were old, some stains but appeared clean as could be. I wish I would have taken more pictures of the room. The pictures on the hotel site and Booking.com are clearly old, from when the place was newer.
