Comfort Inn Near Grand Canyon

The hotel itself isn't bad. Nice pool. The hot tub is a bit small. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. The problem comes with billing. I booked 4 rooms. 1 king with 1 person and 3 double queens with 2 people in each room. At check in we were charged for 1 king with 1 person, 1 double queen with 1 person, and 2 double queens with 3 people in each room. I booked these rooms. I checked the booking multiple times before check in. I confirmed these rooms with the hotel directly the day before check in. All 3 of the double queen rooms were booked at the same rate. They didn't pay the same rate at check in because of a mysterious 3rd adult occupant. An invisible guest. When I questioned this I was told by the desk clerk that she could not change the reservation. She didn't even have the ability to change a room once it was assigned. Only the manager could handle this. I asked for the manager. Amazingly enough a manager was not available. The clerk had no idea when the manager was going to be there and could not even give me the name. Nor could she give me the name and contact info for the owner but she did tell me not to call the corporate office because the hotel was independently owned. That's when I started to question if I was even staying at a Choice Hotel. Throughout my 2 night stay and at check out I tried to speak to the manager. No one knew where the manager was or when the manager would be in. No one would even give me a name. I wrote corporate and was told they couldn't help because I was still on property. When I got home a emailed them again. Now they are having technical issues. No help. The thing is, someone changed my reservation. Most people don't even look at the bill and if they had changed all 3 queen rooms I wouldn't have noticed. But I do know that all 3 queen rooms were booked at the same rate.

Reception staff apart from young woman on duty on our last night who was very helpful & actually smiled 2 staff inc when we arrived very miserable. Both drinking or eating at desk continuously

The indoor pool was supposed to be heated but was freezing and too cold to get in. The pool and the hot tub were also very green and I did not feel comfortable even getting in the hot tub.
