Super 8 by Wyndham Spirit Lake/Okoboji

Easy check in nice staff.

Food was good and hot. Nice variety.

The room we were in had a very bad smell. It was coming from the a/c unit. If it wasn’t for that everything else was fine.

bed was hard - the trash out side was still fully on Sunday when we left it was already pretty full on Thursday evening when we arrived - room was nothing like it is posted on the internet

Very clean everywhere - rooms, hallways, entrance, breakfast room, parking lot. Stayed in a King room which was very updated and everything was in working order. Lots of well thought out storage in the rooms. AC was great, refrigerator worked well, and the leather sitting chair was very comfortable. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful. Truly a non-smoking hotel as I experienced zero smell of this or anything else, anywhere. Breakfast was good with several hot and cold options. Very well priced and convenient location for the area.

Old, smelly and moldy. You can’t even compare it to Hampton Inn, which is only half a star higher in class.

The staff - Bobby and Sheila were awesome host. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. When slow, they kept busy cleaning, which is why we love the place as it is very clean. A definite repeat hotel for us every time in Okabogi/Spirit Lake

The bathroom shower could have used a bit more attention. There were some stains on the carpet. Overall it was a good value for the money. Decently clean, the beds were good, I wouldn't call the room spacious, but it's enough to get by for a night. Wouldn't mind a place to put a suitcase.

Not sure what was happening with the reception from the Dish Networks but we were watching a movie on the television and it was almost unwatchable. It was glitching horribly the entire movie. On a positive note, the breakfasts were very good, especially the biscuits and gravy.
