Baymont by Wyndham Durango

Great Stay in Durango We had a very enjoyable stay at Baymont Durango. The location was convenient, with easy access to the Riverwalk, City Market, restaurants, and other local attractions. One of the highlights was the breakfast. There was a nice variety each morning, including eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and more. It was much better than the typical hotel breakfast and gave us a great start to the day. We stayed in a ground-floor room and loved being able to park right in front of our door, which made loading and unloading very easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the pool was a nice place to relax after exploring the area. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall, Baymont Durango offered great value, comfort, and convenience. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Durango.

The breakfast was decent, but

the rooms were horrible, mine had broken bed frame, the tub drain was broken, 2out of 3 nights had no hot water. The swimming pool was alge covered, the filtration system was not on or being used. They had floating chlorine units half were empty. And my son cut his toe open on the bottom of the pool. Should have listened to my gut and stayed out of it. The hot tub was broken and disgusting. Another in our party tried using the laundry and almost had their clothes ruined 😑

Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing and far below what we expected. The room was not clean upon arrival and had a noticeable musty odor. Several maintenance issues further detracted from our stay, including a missing hairdryer, ineffective air conditioning, and a bathroom door that would not close properly. There was also tile grout splattered across the bathroom wall behind the sink, giving the room an unfinished and poorly maintained appearance. The condition of the outdoor amenities was equally concerning. The surrounding areas were filthy, the hot tub looked more like a mud hole than a place to relax, and the pool was very dark and did not appear clean or properly maintained. The breakfast area did little to improve our impression of the property. It was not particularly clean, and we observed people walking around the breakfast area barefoot. Given the poor cleanliness of our room, we were uncomfortable eating there and chose to skip breakfast altogether because we had concerns about the cleanliness of the food and dining area. We booked this hotel because my sister had stayed here about five years ago and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, it appears the property has significantly declined since then. The hotel felt old, worn, and neglected throughout. It was disappointing to see what appears to be a lack of investment and upkeep under the current ownership. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have had. I would not recommend this property to others, as it did not meet even basic expectations for cleanliness and maintenance. This is certainly not the level of quality I would expect from a Wyndham property. The best part of our stay was checking out and leaving.

air conditioner sounded like a freight train and it was too hot to turn it off but for a 300 room that looked like it hadn't been painted, and the dresser was all torn up- you should be able to invest in normal air conditioning- the door was grimy like you hadn't touched up the painting in a couple of years. the cost was outrageous for that room
