Room was great. Bathroom lovely. Location awesome. Rooftop pool and view was great.

Breakfast buffet was squishy and not as good as other places.

Location was great, practically on the beach. Beach is very busy, can be loud at night due to hard rock playing live music late

Breakfast was very poor. The only edible food was the omelette. The rest was very greasy and favourless. Had a really bad encounter on the last few days of our visit. On our last day my partner was vomiting excessively. We tried to extend the visit explaining our circumstances. They has no empathy and they did not try to help get an extra two days (we had no accommodation as we were supposed to be travelling to ubud). They ended up giving us and extra day which we paid for. It took so much back and forth to get this and they didn't offer any extra help to book another day at another hotel near by. On the last day we were here my partner was throwing up blood and needed emergency care ASAP. We called room service and explained the situation and asked for them to book a taxi. We were transferred five times. Eventually they told us to come downstairs even when we asked for help with luggage. Once we were downstairs we asked if we could book a taxi in which we were told 'one moment'. My partner was clearly very ill, they would have seen this. They continued to serve other guests and laugh together behind the counter. I then asked again 10 minutes later what was happening . She again said one moment. I then again explained the emergency and they then got on the phone to the taxi. Whilst I was in the toilet my partner asked reception for a bag to throw up if needed. They told him to ealk round the the bar and ask. The bar tender said he had no bags (possibly a language problem) as he then gave him a black bag after alot of back and forth. At no point did any one display any concern even when I was visibly distressed and my partner was looking so very ill. This is is extremely disappointing service and extremely different to the the hotel we are now staying in. They have offered so much help at gold resort. Thank goodness Mercure didn't allow us to stay any longer. A terrible experience.
