Homewood Suites by Hilton Stratford

The breakfast was good and the coffee was great.

The hotel is old and in need of a remodel. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The air quality in the rooms are poor! The air coming from the vents smells and feels dirty. I coughed all night, as it set off some kind of allergy in my lungs and throat.. maybe the air filters are in need of replacing or the carpets have years of pet dander. Really gross and disappointing.

The staff was really wonderful and helpful. Extremely responsive to anything you need and polite. The overall hotel was clean but the rooms could use some slight updating and the sofa bed was mostly springs which was not a huge deal but if you plan to use it, just know it won’t be comfortable. At least the one in our room was not great.

The mattress and floor had stains. The room had a strange smell and the staff sprayed it when i arrived but when I returned later that night the smell returned and the staff provide Frebreeze or something like it and i was able to spray it again. Around midnight i pulled back the sheets and saw the mattress stains and the stains near the bed and on the carpet near the kitchen. The AC wasn't working but it was eventually repaired. I checked out just before midnight.

This hotel has clean and spacious rooms. The breakfast was great and has an excellent/safe location next to the Merritt. I would definitely stay here again. Some updates to carpets and furniture could make this a five star stay.
