Besides having to ask for towels etc was a good experience overall for the price

The location was convenient — close to plenty of restaurants and shopping. The staff member I encountered was friendly.

The room and property were outdated and not well-maintained. There was visible mold/water damage on the bathroom ceiling, dusty and dirty furniture (including a drink ring on the nightstand), and the vanity was starting to come off the wall. Bedding consisted of just two sheets with a thin blanket between them, no duvet, and only three flat pillows. The microwave and fridge only worked when the room lights were switched on, and several items were plugged into the same outlet in a way that didn’t seem electrically safe. While everything technically worked, the overall cleanliness and maintenance made me uncomfortable enough that I didn’t even want to shower.

Tv didn’t, waited at front desk forever, finally came and fixed it. Air conditioner very noisy.

Once I was actually in the room, it did the job — a bed, a door that locked, and no immediate sign of wildlife or ghosts. The place has that budget-friendly “you’re just here to sleep, right?” vibe, which works if you don’t expect much beyond four walls and a roof.

Tried to check in, card didn’t work because it was locked (without me knowing). Came back after unlocking it, and the front desk suddenly went from cold to cash-only-friendly once I pulled out paper money. Pretty sure they were smiling because they knew they’d keep my incidental fee without me thinking about it until it was too late. Felt more like negotiating with a pawn shop than checking into a hotel.

Everything staff was very rude and kept my deposit saying it smelled like smoke and im not a smoker

The area around the hotel was not well lit and did not have an elevator. Strange shirtless men walking around the property when we checked in. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Just not a very safe area or environment from what we gather from our stay.

This time I walked in with cash ready, and the staff suddenly transformed into the friendliest people in Battle Creek. They were accommodating, even handing me a second key without judgment after I locked myself out like a pro. Room was clean enough, bed did its job, and no unexpected wildlife.

The TV was just a decorative rectangle on the wall. Tried to turn it on, but it stared back at me like it was waiting for me to guess a password to unlock the hidden channel where it actually works.
