"Manager would not help out."

Last weekend (Aug 1-Aug 2) my wife and I drove to Long Island to visit family. I love the Residence Inn so I used Hotels.com to see the rates for this hotel and the Residence Inn in Islip. The rates were much lower in Islip so I booked that hotel. I noticed my cc statement had charged me for the Hauppauge Residence Inn (189.00) AND the actual Residence Inn we stayed at in Islip (106.00). I assumed it was a mistake so I contacted Hotels.com who contacted the manager of the Residence Inn in Hauppauge. The manager refused to help, or refund the error. I have used Hotels.com for over a decade and have never booked 2 hotels within 4 miles of each other by mistake, I only looked at it. Currently I am trying to resolve this with Hotels.com but fear that they will pin it on me. It is very disappointing to me that the manager of this hotel would not refund this mistake as I was staying in another Residence Inn right down the road. Live and learn, but be careful using Hotels.com, I have never had this trouble before but it is obviously a glitch in their system
