Super 8 by Wyndham Salina I-70

Staff did not inform us the pool was out of service when we checked in. Did not find out it was out of service till we went down to go swim. Was also charged an extra $100 when arrived at the hotel for the deposit

The rooms were nice and clean. Good for the value.

The outer appearance looked a bit under construction. Wasn't that appealing

I did not have breakfast.

My stay was fine.

Staff were polite. Manager assisted with an issue but didn't completely solve it.

When we got to the room, it was hot. Turned on a/c and it immediately stunk like urine. The manager said the carpet was new so it was glue smell. It wasn't, in my opinion, glue scent. He sprayed a liquid into the air unit and the carpet near the unit. It neutralized the smell until 330 a.m. when I woke up to the same smell. There was a light on the outside of the building, right next to the window, so the room was never dark. There was a large tear in the blackout liner which added to the light in the room. The bathroom appeared to be clean but there was a hair on the shampoo pump in the shower. The vent in the bathroom on the ceiling was filthy. It's clearly an older hotel and the only reason I booked it was of the good experience I had at the Super 8 in Wakeeny. This location didn't come close to the Wakeeny hotel. The breakfast was sub par. I included a photo of the container that the cereal was in. I decided not to eat because of the lack of cleanliness. I borrowed an ironing board and iron this morning and the iron had black stuff on the ironing surface. I didn't want it to transfer to my clothes as I couldn't wipe it off with a washcloth. Additionally, I was told I could pay at check in but my card was charged before I even got there. I didn't give Super 8 my card so the only way it happened was thru Booking.com.
