The Capri Inn

Capri Inn was clean and close to the famous 5th Ave- within walking distance, which was very convenient. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly. They also provided a shuttle if needed which was a good bonus. The one thing I didn’t like was breakfast- the coffee was sour and not drinkable, and the selection of food was not the best: some muffin, bagels, hard boiled eggs, pre-packaged egg sandwich and some yogurt and fruit (including bananas which had black dots already). In a place like this I would include a better breakfast selection, especially that we were charged a $39 resort fee which was supposed to cover breakfast. Also, what was kind of weird was that the hotel staff entered our room (we stayed just 1 night) when we were not there and left two little boxes of chocolate. This was a nice touch but in the same time we did not feel comfortable that someone got into our room while we were not there. Overall, the place was a very good choice in a prime location but I would improve a few things to make it even better.

My husband and I have been patrons for several years, but had not visited since the Opal Collection acquired and updated the hotel. We enjoyed the updates. The return of light breakfast fare and the addition of the beach shuttle will keep us coming back. The staff was professional and pleasant. The hotel was spotless. The room size is good. The bathroom is spacious, and the linens and towels are of good quality. The breakfast items include coffee, muffins, bagels, toast, some egg sandwiches, oatmeal and pastries. This was perfectly fine for me, but for those who have food allergies or are expecting a gormet breakfast, just keep your expectations in check. It's a short walk to Fifth Ave.

Very friendly staff

The location was outstanding and the room had everything (and more) that we needed, along with being very big! The beach shuttle service was an unexpected convenience, with all towels, umbrellas and chairs provided by the staff. The majority of the staff went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met. There was also a live pianist one of the evenings, which was a lovely touch!
