Inn At Avila Beach

The breakfast was really nice and the staff were excellent

The bathrooms are ancient, reminding one of 1950. The toilets are really small, not fit for normal sized adults. The lack of an elevator in 2026 is quaint, to say the least. My wife and I are 80, and we lugged our luggage up and down three flights of stairs. Fortunately, I am in good shape but my wife has difficulty with stairs.

Location is nice. Staff was kind enough to refund the money. Still had to pay for the first night even though I didn't stay.

Walkways are slanted. The room was not as advertised. The floor in the room was uneven.

Loved the location, rooftop breakfast and lattes, complimentary pie every night, private parking, and comfortable bed.

The only thing was that the WiFi and reception was really spotty. Not a big deal if you don’t need to work while here.

Location excellent. Facilities are eclectic and very nice staff. Breakfast, while simple was excellent! Very limited choices but delicious croissants and perfectly made coffee drinks. Downside—Stairs,Stairs,Stairs. Several of the guests I talked to have been coming for years. Mostly middle aged and older guests. One family had a very young daughter and all the stuff that goes with it hiking up and down the stairs. My suggestion is you pack lightly. The parking is limited and very challenging. No elevator. Our room was getting pretty tired but I suppose if you consider the location and the price it was a good value. We stayed for 3 days and the beds were challenging for our backs. The location and some of the local eateries were lovely. The local stores are cute but limited beach town affairs. It’s a fairly small place altogether but near many other areas within 10-15 miles or less.

Loved the sun deck and breakfast -beds were comfortable -the jacuzzi tub was good though we never figured out how to start the jets

Great location on Front Street. The rooftop coffee shop was great and free for guests.

The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. There's also no AC, which I'm sure is probably not an issue normally, but it was unseasonably warm while I was there.
