Motel 6-Santa Maria, CA - South

Was thrilled they let us check in early on a Saturday. Property was clean and quiet. Dennys next door for a quick meal Room was clean - but patio door lock was broken so they screwed the door so it would not open more then 2 inches. The AC was a bit loud but did not keep us awake. Tv remote needed new batteries or to be replaced - it was sluggish in responding.

The location.

The rooms were not properly supplied. Towels were old and not full bath towels, they were hand towels, like the ones used to dry cars. Pillows were old and not enough, holes in sheets.

Affordable but comfortable!

Todo muy bien! Si tuviera un mini desayuno sería excelente. Un lugar muy recomendable!!!

Close to family

this seemed like a homeless hotel contracted by the city..please remove from you hotel list..people got their room robbed..very smelly room..like pest spray or disinfectant..really bad odor..scary place to stay especially a woman on her own...

Check-in was easy. The girl was friendly in the beginning, got all checked in, got my key, went to go open my room and nothing. Tried it several times, panel did not even light up. So I went back up to the front, waited my turn in line, let her know it did not work. She told me if it’s close to my phone it would demagnetize, so I made sure to keep it separate from my phone. Went back to my room and tried to swipe again for the second time. Nothing, light on the key panel did not light up. Went back up, waited in line again, got up to the front and now it was a gentleman who was helping me. Told him it was the third time I’d been up. My key wasn’t working, my kids are standing in front of the door waiting, I’m frustrated. At this point, it had been like 45 minutes dealing with this. He told me it would work this time, walked back to my room, swiped the key card several times, phone nowhere near the key and still NOTHING. At this point, I walked back up straight to the window, slammed my key down and told him it did not work again. (I did apologize to everyone that was in line for my rudeness) so the girl that was first helping me came out of the office, she grabbed the key to my room, walked out with me, opened the door WITH THE KEY, and told me, you just have to push harder. I was livid but I kept my composure, got my kids in the room and in bed. Rooms were hot, air conditioning didn’t really work. The bathroom had some mold on the bathroom ceiling. Towels are kid size.

We were on a road trip, called earlier in the day to inform them we would be arriving late. Told no problem. We get in at 1230, and not only was our room given away, but the room we were offered (2 singles in place of 1 queen) was over double in price. I found a much better hotel elsewhere for slightly more than my original cost. Its what I get for going cheap on motel 6.

Older motel, pool was busy but did have a roach stare at me from under the mini fridge.

Everything was perfect! I didn't expect to have a microwave/fridge, even a balcony. The room was very clean and nice! This will be my motel of choice whenever I'm in town 😊

The tv was small, but I didn't care since I didn't come to watch TV anyway.
