M Star Hotel Covington

No staff and no one in office. Had to go to Magnuson hotel to check in. Refused to stay at M Star Hotel. Stayed at Magnuson Hotel, cost more but it had people working at hotel. No security at M Star for guest or your car. Very run down had pick truck up on blocks with no wheels in front of rooms. Avoid this place.

The Price was way to high for what i got I did not like the"virtual desk I think that is a stypid idea and I had to drive to a different hotel to pick up my room key also could not find any wifi to connect to

Hotel is outdated, a/c was in need of repair or replaced. But for our needs it served its purpose and is close to several eating options.

The virtual check i was weird. The room smelled like an ashtray. When asked for a nonsmoking room we were told none were available. Hubby had to go to another building to find ice. The refigerator waa barely cold. The trash can outside our room was overflowing. The grass/weeds were tall like it hadn't been cared for at all.

I booked this room for my husband who was traveling home after a 3 month school in Fort Eustis. He got there after driving all day and there wasn’t a live person to talk to. There was a monitor for someone to talk in to or the option to press 0 to be connected to someone. He tried for 30 minutes. I called Expedia and told them we wanted to cancel as my husband was tired and needed to rest for the night so he would need to look for a different place to stay. Expedia asked us to hold for 2-3 minutes while she was contacting them. 15 minutes later she got back on the phone and said there was now someone at the desk to help him check-in. When he went back inside there was still no person face to face...she talked to him through a monitor and he had to use a lockbox to retrieve keys to his room. This place was dirty, the room was extremely hot and the countertop for the sink area was made of plywood which was old and had been painted in an effort to make it look decent. It’s m star “hotel” name is very deceiving. This place is a motel, and nothing about it was to the standards of an actual hotel. While I don’t post bad reviews often, I wanted others to beware of this place.

Beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing!!

The young man who worked the front desk was very nice. He was not at the hotel as he was at another hotel, but came quickly as o fix the key problem. The room was awful, I mean awful. Room was dirty, no trash cans in room, room smelled awful, door did not fit the frame. Someone needs to do an inspection, it would be closed down. Bathroom cabinet was just plain plywood, not painted just plain ply board. Paid $90 but we should have been refunded over half our money. Do not stay there.
