Canalta Lodge Banff

My room was very noisy with the door right next to the pool entrance.

We stayed for a couple of nights while staying in Banff, on our way through to Nelson. We really liked the hotel. The room was comfy , twin double beds. They are happy to service the rooms on request. The staff on reception were super helpful from helping us park for free, to additional kettle etc. Room has fridge and microwave , we ate out first night, and ate in second night to manage costs. Hot tubs and sauna are a nice touch. The coffee area means you can grab a coffee / hot chocolate and use the communal area. Breakfast is included, it isn't gourmet, but its free and sets you up for the day. We used the laundry service on site. Its a 20 minute walk into the centre of Banff and nice to be a little seperated from the crowds. A nice stay

Location and Staff

A poor experience at a noisy hotel. If you are unlucky enough to have a room overlooking the hot tub it is extremely noisy. The hotel provides ear plugs which is a give away! The breakfast area and food are poor. Reception staff are mostly seasonal students and lacking in local knowledge. On the plus side the bedrooms are clean with good linen and comfy beds. Motel standard.

A very noisy hotel staffed by inexperienced students for the season with mostly limited local knowledge. The sitting and eating areas / cafe equivalent to a motel diner - poor food at breakfast. If you are unlucky enough to stay in a room overlooking the hot tub - v noisy. A give away is the hotel provides ear plugs!! A good 20 minute walk in to the centre though there is a bus. On the plus side the bedrooms are very clean and beds comfy. Good towels in the bathroom. Disappointing overall given the cost and reviews.

The lodge was an absolute delight. The staff was amazing and so helpful. The breakfast was good and perfect to start off the day. We enjoyed the smores and the hot tub and sauna. Overall, great experience.
