Comfort Inn Red Horse Frederick

It was near a few places to eat.

The elevator got stuck repeatedly. I had to jump up and down to get it to open the doors. The guy who checked me in only said the basics to me like "name" and "sign here". The room was dirty and im pretty sure they didn't change the sheets cause their was lip stick marks on one bed. I asked for new sheets and they never came.

The location was good and the room rate was ok

The breakfast was not good. There were microwave eggs and bacon. There was a waffle maker but I did not use it.

The location was perfect to Rt 15 and downtown. Easy access to restaurants and shopping. (bummed the Red Horse Restaurant was closed due to a fire - next time I hope to go there!) The hotel was clean and the rooms were well maintained.

It is an older hotel that is in need of a real update, not just a paint job. There was only one mall elevator. They installed an "Open" button to press when the door wouldn't automatically open. Still safe, but it was concerning. The shower knob was finicky and had to be turned just right for the hot water. The room had an overpowering cleaner or perfume smell. You just get used to it.

This place is always convenient and comfortable fir me when I visit my family in the area

The Breakfast was good but we were not informed of the hours of operation, so we missed the first day.

There is mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The elevator hasn't been inspected for a while and it broke down. The staff did not inform us of the hours that breakfast was available, so we missed the first day. The staff did not notify us that we had to request that our room be cleaned, so we did not get fresh towels or the beds made. There was also a strong odor of marijuana in our hallway.

There was nothing we liked about this hotel.

First, our door key wouldn't work. Every time we would try to get back into our room the door key card wouldn't work. We had to go back down to guest services to have them fix it. The rooms were dingy and smelly. They are dark and not welcoming. The fridge and microwave were unplugged, and the outlet was behind the heavy tv stand. The shower knob was backwards. Not much hot water. You can hear other guests through the vent in the bathroom (as if they were in the bathroom with you). Elevator got stuck. We had to push the open button to get us out of the elevator. It was not the best feeling knowing it gets stuck. We didn't take the elevator after that 1st time. We would prefer to walk up all the flight of steps then get into that elevator. We will never stay at this hotel again and we will never recommend this hotel.
