Sabàtic Gavà Mar, Barcelona, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

We stayed here after finishing our transatlantic cruise and before we flew home. This is a small, boutique hotel which isn't really my style, but it has some incredible amenities. I would like to give it 4 1/2 "dots", but that isn't allowed. Pros: beautiful but small grounds, Nice rooms but small, excellent shower and bathroom, everything smelled incredible, I believe all rooms have an ocean view. Cons: staff needs some training - check-in took a long time, no benefit for being a lifetime Platinum member - just a small discount on the breakfast, thinnest walls of any hotel I have stayed at - could hear a couple just talking next door - they were loud, just no sound proofing. We had a great stay - we were tired and just needed to kick back. Beautiful pool area and easy access to the beach which is why we came here. Ordered a couple of room service sandwiches which were great.

We came for a staycation and right off the bat things started going wrong. 1. The "garage" is always locked and you can't drive in. If you hit the call button no one answers. We had to wait for a hotel shuttle to come and open the door and we followed behind. Same thing happened when we left. The door stays shut and you have to call to have someone let you escape this nightmare. Also the parking places are far too narrow for each car. They are all parked in like sardines and you can't even get in or out of your car door a lot of the time. Lastly the elevator from the parking is not in the garage. You have to take your bags thru a convention room to get to the other side then go up. Horrible management. 2. Checkin took 25 minutes of someone just typing crap on their terminal to get us room keys. Had to fill out 3 forms just to check in (info they already have anyway. 3. Marriott Titanium member: was offered no amenity and no free breakfast, and no upgrade, and no late checkout. Almost all Tribute properties offer free breakfast but not this one. 4. The room had 3 issues: First, my wife found some black hair on the dresser (disgusting). Then she took a "water" from the nightstand and someone had already opened the canister (again, disgusting). Then finally the A/C buttons do not work. We had to call someone to adjust the A/C and make it go from 20 to 23, which he did. We asked how to do it and he said "only we can change it and I have to come do it for you". Unacceptable. 5. We had "lunch" on the terrace the the food was dry and expensive. Plus, the wait staff is super slow. We spent 2 hours at "lunch" with our baby and only 20 minutes of this time actually eating or drinking. The rest of the 80 minutes were spent looking around wondering where our order was. wondering if we could get a drink, or wondering when we could pay bill. It took 35 minutes between us finishing and someone coming back to take our plates and our asking for the bill. The first waiter came by and totally ignored us even though he clearly saw us. Unprefessional 6. We were do disappointed by this hotel that we packed up our bags and went back home after lunch. We were happy to be gone from this nightmare hotel. We will never come back.

Comoda la posizione vicino all'aeroporto e alle spiagge. Hotel curato e pulizia della stanza e delle aree comuni eccellente.

L’insonorizzazione della camera è risultata molto scadente: si sentivano distintamente i rumori provenienti dalle camere adiacenti anche fino a tarda notte. Segnalato il problema alla reception, mi è stato risposto che sarebbe stato verificato, ma non è seguito alcun intervento concreto. Per un hotel di questa categoria, ritengo che rappresenti un evidente limite alla qualità del soggiorno e del sonno.

Viví 20 años en Gavà Mar , Conozco el Hotel muy bien . Ahora que vivo en otra ciudad , aprovecho para pasar algunos días en el hotel .
