Quality Inn & Suites Ferdinand

The awful smell of the hotel was overwhelming. It was like a bad smell was trying to be covered by super strong air freshener. It made it hard to breathe. When we checked in, there was no one at the front desk. There was a sign to call 0 on a phone. Someone finally showed up but he wasn’t friendly. The room was missing several light bulbs and had two lights we couldn’t use because they flashed like strobe lights. The bed didn’t have a comforter. I would give the bed an average rating for comfort. Not great, but I’ve had worse. Would have been better with nicer linens. All we had was a sheet with a thin bed cover. The wall unit air conditioner worked well to cool the room. The bathroom was standard. Water pressure good. Very steamy due to no ventilation. The hallways and elevator looked dirty. I never saw another employee. No one was available to check us out so I could not get a receipt. There was a sign to leave the keys. I found out later that they charged a $2 fee for a in-room safe. A bill for $111 ended up being $127 with taxes and fees. Overall, not worth the money.

Unclean and Uncaring. We checked in and our room reeked of cigarettes. The manager initially thought he could spray it down to fix it but relented and gave us a different room. That room had dirty, stained bedding and a moldy, urine stained shower curtain. The bathroom door wouldn't close from being painted so many times. For the bedding, we were handed a bedding kit and told we could make our bed because housekeeping wouldn't come until the next day. Two lights were missing bulbs as well and we were handed light bulbs to install. We took the shower curtain down and placed it with the dirty bedding when we left in the morning with the promise the room would be clean when we returned. The bedding was clean but we had to go get and hang a clean shower curtain from the desk. When we returned, the door to the room was left opened, probably when housekeeping finished. The manager didn't even apologize for any of these issues and acted like we were wrong to desire a smoke free room without a urine stained shower curtain as we stayed two nights with our two children. No apology or compensation was offered and we were expected to pay full price for the room, over $400 with taxes. DO NOT STAY HERE. It's close to Holiday World and a Taco Bell but you will regret it.

They were nice

There were blood stains on the bed and when we switched rooms there were even more blood stains on the bed in the room we got moved to. Stuff all over walls and bathroom tub was filthy.

Not friendly. Not clean.

The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was phenomenal. The complimentary breakfast was pretty awful.

The beds are comfy. Pool is very small and smells funny and color looks off. We had ants in our room on the tables by the beds. Hot water pressure was good.

Hallways and elevator were dirty and smelled bad.

Nice property, stayed when we went to Holiday World. Staff was great and helpful.
