Pirita Marina Hotel & Spa

The hotel is some distance from Tallinn city center. It was built for the 1980 Olympics and is fairly large. It has plenty of parking and is very close to the bus route into the city. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had balconies but not A/C. A/C was provided for common areas. Also included in room price were the spa facilities and parking. Besides exercise equipment there was a large swimming pool and sauna. The breakfast choices were plentiful and satisfactory. The restaurant, on the 5th floor were also the breakfast was served, has a spectacular view of the ocean. It is a good location to relax.

Overall the hotel is very good value & in a lovely position, The food is excellent & so is the service. I had 3 amazing massages in the spa, which helped a medical condition. I stayed at the spa with 16 family members for 4 nights. the group included 2 babies & 4 children & was very pleased with all the facilities on offer. On the minus side, be aware that if you are disabled you can only access the 1st & 3rd floor through spiral staircases from the 2nd floor, I would suggest only booking a room on the 2nd floor. Also if you smoke, be aware that you are not allowed to smoke on your balcony & have to go to a smoking room on the 4th floor, Also the 'A' side corridors need refurbishing-they are very dismal. I stayed on both sides & if I were to return to this hotel I would only book a 2nd floor 'sea view' side.

In general this hotel is very good value for money there are minor things which could be better,like the balconies decor and furniture. Fairly basic rooms,comfortable never the less.These issues are relatively minor and are more than overshadowed by the other facilities on offer,such as the indoor 25 meter swimming pool,free saunas,along with many other amenities which are available. Beauty treatments,massage,the list go on. In short it all depends what you requirements are,if you want a nice room in a central location,enjoying the lap of luxury, stay somewhere else but if you think you would appreciate the above things at a location close to the beach and a fifteen minute bus ride from the centre a stay here could be good for your needs... :-)

A nice hotel for its price. Very nice location and sea view from the restaurant. Very good buffet. Pretty easy and fast to drive to the city center. One thing that little spoiled the picture was the bathroom, but you can let it by having all other advantages such as free use of the swimming pool and work-out room and sauna. Not so good sound isolation, but if your neighbors are quiet, you won't notice it.

We came on the ferry from Helsinki with a car and found the hotel pretty easily about 5-7km from the port. The parking places were abundant, the personell was friendly and spoke Estonian, English, Finnish and Russian. The pool was open until 22.00 which was very clever. The spa services were hard to find & inquire about so we did not seem to find a suitable time slot to use them.
