Glasgow Westerwood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

Everything was nice , staff was welcoming, but the equipment in the spa was all working well , except for the blue tiled longer chairs ,laying on them for a while ,when got up felt like something scratch my skin on my back felt a sharp pain ,asked my partners to look at my back said that there was lots of cuts on one side my back .those longer need fixing really .disappointed .

The staff were all fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were are very polite and helpful

The place was very dirty. Tables in the bar and lounge area were full of dirty glasses and cups and the tables themselves were filthy. The main entrance was accessed via a glass porch area, with sliding doors, which were covered with beer stains and dust. The bar area had a single member of staff working behind the bar, trying to make coffees, cocktails, pour pints, make various drinks with spirits and mixers and make a variety of coffees. I went to reception to ask if the lady behind the bar could get some assistance, but was told that there were no other members of staff available. The beer that I and several other guests were drinking ran out. The lady behind the bar had to leave the bar area and go and change the barrel, leaving the bar unattended for a short period of time, whilst 5 or 6 guests were stood waiting. After a wait of 5 to 10minutes, is was apparent that the beer would not pull through, despite the best efforts of the bar staff, so I opted for an alternative selection, which was not great. The lady behind the bar eventually brought my original selection through to the lounge area where I was sitting some, 20 to 25minutes later, which was very kind of her. When using the staircase to access the first floor, the area was so poorly lit, that it was a real hazaed and a serious Health & Safety concern. The bedroom was dirty, with dust covering the majority of surfaces. Bath towels were ripped with a large hole in one of them. The bath would not function correctly and fill up. There was no soap in the dispenser in the bath area. The shower operational controls were also broken. When making a cup of tea the next morning, the paper doily's had clearly been used and not replaced, as they had tea and coffee stains on them. The room was stiflingly hot, so I opened the window. The hinge on the top left was broken and the window swung into the room. I manage to lift the window back into its original position and close it.

Cleanliness and friendliness of staff and room was great size

Only negative is the cold water showers were not working in the swim steam room area
