Puerto Aventuras Hotel & Beach Club

This general area is a hidden gem away from the "all-inclusive party atmosphere!" I hope it stays this way!! The hotel has so many restaurants within walking distance. Hotel bed was very comfortable. The beach is very clean and well maintained!! The hotel itself has only one restaurant but the food was great. And great beach service!

I have stayed at many resorts, including those that are "all inclusive ", during my multiple trips to the Riviera Maya...but I must say that this one is by far the best. It is not the fanciest of hotels but it has a great location, great service, amazing beach, and best of all...a very reasonable price. Everything is within a 5 to 10 minute walking distance. Great restaurants and activities close by. You won't even need a car.

We paid the higher price for this hotel because it is RIGHT in the thick of Puerto Aventuras, but we would have been MUCH better off staying at an actual resort and paying the $65 a day for a golf cart to get around. The staff constantly acted like we were bothering them, and were super unfriendly. There was ONE really nice gentleman that we spoke with...he was wearing a different shirt than the other staff, so I'm thinking maybe a manager? He was super helpful and nice, but we dreaded asking the front desk for ANYTHING. We never got answers to our repeated questions about COVID testing. We even emailed their offices as indicated on their website to find out about COVID testing. No one was ever able or willing to tell us everything. More concerning was the older gentleman who approached my FIFTEEN year old daughter and demanded her room number. I was a foot away, but he didn't ask me...he asked the child. I appreciate them wanting to ensure that the people using their chairs, etc. are patrons, but that was super inappropriate and did not leave me with a safe feeling for her the rest of the trip. When I went to the front desk to speak with someone, the woman I spoke to was super rude and tried to just blow me off despite my asking to speak with a manager. I was NOT rude when I spoke with her, but I certainly felt like it needed to be brought to their attention. The property itself is gorgeous, if a little dated, and the Xenote restaurant on site was delightful.

Aside from the hotel pools which there are several of different depths accommodating infants all the way to adults, the beach access is the highlight as well as access to several very good restaurants. None of the restaurants are gourmet but they are all very good. If you don't speak Spanish, then figuring stuff out can be a bit of a chore. For example, a full American breakfast was included in our room daily charges but the tip was not but there's actually almost no way to know that unless you pay very close attention to the bill which is for the most part acronyms and Spanish. There's also nothing in the room to explain much about the way things work. No tourist information. Brief hotel rules on the back of the door. That's it.

2nd time I this hotel, we like it. Staff is very friendly, hotel is nice with a decent pool and a private beach. However, the weekend is insane with plenty of people - not from the hotel itself - coming with kids screaming and splashing around. That is not fare for people who are coming in this hotel to relax. Also, the hotel is not good at organizing the transfer airport/hotel/airport

Two necessities not provided here influenced the rating! Hotel provides NO Drinking water or coffee after the first day! Seriously? In a country where even the Mexicans don’t drink the water! I was told you have to purchase water at the restaurant or across the way at OXXO! So we go to OXXO with the peso equivalent of $5 and they do not have change! This happened to us several days. Why? Because everyone at the hotel is trying to buy water! The staff was very friendly ..it’s not their fault. Could be a nice hotel but water is a necessity and for us coffee before cleaning up is also. They could at least offer those two ite,s in the lobby!
