Pioneer Inn by the River

Really helpful and understanding host. We had explained that we would be arriving on the ferry from Prince Rupert a little after midnight. Despite the late hour the motel was very happy to receive us. We had a comfortable room with sufficient beds for the four of us. Kitchenette and fridge, although we didn't use these as there were drinks (tea, coffee, chilled water) and even continental style breakfast available in the reception area. Would we recommend? Yes. Would we stay again? Definitely!

Two double beds rather than one double and two twin, but we knew this would be the case, as as it seems to be usual across Canada at our budget end of the market we were happy to work with this.

Room was excellent, nice and clean, also quiet which i love.

The property is beautiful. Location is great. Rooms are spacious and have everything needed.

There was a strong smell of cleaner inside and the bedding was questionable. The top layers seemed clean enough but the bottom covering of the beds were stained and unsightly. The beds are very very firm.

Not a lot of options in Port Hardy. Exterior was a bit run down but the interior of the rooms was quite fresh.

The room was very old but clean.

Everything about the outside, bird poop everywhere, needed a major upgrade on the exterior.
