West Coaster Motel

Close to town. Property was easy to find. Room was well equipped with amenities, didn’t use any of it though.

The mattresses in our room probably needed replacing. They were starting to sink in the centre. The pillows and wool blankets had a distinct body odor, probably from the last occupant, even though the sheets looked clean.

The room was warm and clean and the shower had excellent water pressure.

I booked this motel as it had a restaurant with room service and takeaway, which we assumed we would need as we were arriving late Friday evening. 3 hours before arrival we got a message saying the restaurant was closed Friday and Saturday, and that all local restaurants closed by 8pm. This was incredibly stressful as we were travelling with a small child, and would apparently have no way to get food once we arrived on QTown. Had we known earlier we could have brought more food or left Hobart earlier. This was VERY POOR form!!!!!

Very comfortable

The oil heater made the room very toasty and warm on cold Winter nights. The staff were helpful and friendly and tended to our needs. The daily room service was a lovely touch and room was clean. The beds were actually very comfortable. The food was surprisingly good at the restaurant connected to the motel. Motel is in very close proximity to town centre with just a short walk to all amenities

The sound proofing wasn't great. Thankfully no one was beside us during the stay but we could hear the laughter and footsteps of the people above us clearly. The room we were in was dated although clean and comfortable. The hot water never turned hot, only stayed lukewarm no matter how much we ran it so we had to just accept a lukewarm-cold bath.

The service was great, the location very convenient - walking distance to shops, and the food was really good with generous portions.
