Staff were very helpful, friendly and supportive.

On my first two nights stay it was a bit noisy from who was in the room above me.

Staff were so friendly from a warm welcome to last goodbye. It's an old hotel that had had a refurbishment in recent years. It is not plush but it is extremely well kept and the style is in keeping with the old building. Everywhere was spotless, both public areas and in the bedroom. The food was really good too. Great breakfast. Buffet cereals fruit and juice and served your choice of hot food, tea, coffee, and toast. Bacon is really thick and great quality. We had High tea on arrival. To the uninitiated, this is a Scottish tea. It is not afternoon tea. It starts with a round of toast and a pot of tea, followed by your main course. We had fish and chips, which was excellent. You could have had steak pie, lasagne, mac and cheese, scampi or gammon steak. Last of all, you are served with an assortment of cakes. I would not say the selection was great as they were all bought in rather than the home made, which I have had previously. However, value for money at £20 a head it was great. We had a fantastic 2 nights and will definitely return.

Good secure parking, good bar, breakfast was nice. Great staff.
