Anker Hostel

This was one of the most affordable places to stay in Oslo and the 3 person apartment did just what it needed to do. It’s right by public transport and a quick walk to things like the Opera House and other downtown areas. On one of the streets leading up to the hostel it’s quite crowded with some people who are in need of some assistance, but we didn’t feel unsafe.

The bathroom was amazing, lots of books and games to help kill time. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in.

Friendly staff, very clean building close to the heart of Oslo

Comfortable, clean, easy walk to train station, tram stop right out front.

It was great. I liked the fact that each room had a bathroom just for that room. It gave a little bit more of privacy which was nice! Will definitely come back.

Check in and check out was smooth and without any issues and the guests in my room were super friendly. However, the hostel's common area closes at 11 and you're not allowed to hang out in the halls so if you're wanting to hang out with your roommates but not disturb those in the room sleeping you have to leave the hostel which isn't always ideal. Also the rooms didn't have lockers so that was another down side.

Great place. The one complaint I have is it’s new rule to take 200NOK deposit on card only for cutlery. As a non resident this will take up to 10+ days to return back on the card. Before I’ve left passports cash driving license but that is not an option if you now leave before reception opens at 7am. Otherwise it’s been clean and location is central with Oslo S and bars restaurants around the corner plus shops for buying food to cook.

Well located hostel!

- Placed in a dorm with only men and was not informed at check-in - the bed assigned to me was already taken/in use - terrible upper bunk mattress - room smelled and had poor ventilation

Great little hostel. Convenient for Oslo train and bus stations. Friendly staff. Slept well in dormitory for 8. Clean. Quiet neighbourhood.
