Comfort Suites Visalia - Convention Center

Clean, quiet, breakfast started at 5 am so we could get going early to Yosemite.

The breakfast was good, room was a good size for our family of 5. I liked the proximity to restaurants and downtown area. Parking was easy!

Wish the stairwell(s) were easier to access—we would’ve rather taken the stairs to our second floor room. Also, no water was available in the morning.

Nice and clean room

The location was excellent. My main reason for staying here was to visit Sequoia National Park, and the Sequoia Shuttle stopped directly in front of the hotel at the convention center. This made getting to and from the park extremely convenient and was by far the biggest advantage of staying here.

The hotel was quite expensive, and for the price, I felt that some basic amenities were missing. For example, complimentary drinking water was not provided. There was lemon-infused ice water available in a common area, but no regular bottled drinking water included with the stay. Guests had to purchase bottled water separately, which felt disappointing given the room rates. The room itself also felt very sparsely equipped. Basic items such as tissues were not provided, and I had to request them from reception. In addition, there was an issue during check-in when the card reader was not working properly. Instead of processing my card normally, the staff had to manually enter my card information. While I understand technical problems can happen, the process felt unusual and somewhat uncomfortable from a security perspective.

We’re so grateful and thankful that we were able to check in early, we are a return guests to this property.

Location

The hotel is undergoing renovation, so the hallways were very dirty and smelled bad. You had to walk through them to get to the elevator, which was also quite dirty. I wish I had known before. The room was ok. The beds were comfortable, and they suited our needs. But it wasn't very pleasant overall. Breakfast was quite limited in its options. No accommodations for people with dietary restrictions.
