Surya Maha Bungallo

The location is a bit off, it requires you to have a scooter.

The place had a really weird vibe, there was a lot of people and children just hanging out on the hotel area. The room did not feel that clean, the pillows had mold and we had a lot of stains on our sheet and when I asked the owner to change it he sad it was normal to have stains and that all the pillows in Nusa Pendia is like that... The pool was not clean at all and the pool lights were loose and did not look safe at all. Also on our second night the other guest were having a party by the pool stared from 2pm - 5pm we texted the owner but he did not replay.

Nice environment Not far from harbour and from other west coast line attractions. Good for short stay. Value for that price is good.

They do not make breakfast on their own, they order from other place in which case they come cold and tasteless. This was not written in description, I do not suggest taking breakfast from them, better go out to eat somewhere near. Owner is suggesting services, but they are quite expensive comparing to others. It is nice that this is family business, but some times it annoying when a lot of people just walking around the bungalows, when that space should be for guests Other things is made only by request like to bring more toilet paper, they not bring extra in advance, owner did not replace the burnt out bulb for two days, he always said he will do it tomorrow. So staff is not very interested to solve problems

They were willing to help with anything we needed, ride, tours, etc.

There were cockroaches on the walls, the plumbing felt like we could pull it out of the wall, no hot water, in fact, we left after the first day. We tried to leave the same day but most other places were booked. Not to mention it’s not close to anything and there are no food options close by. We left early and pretty sure there was a chicken under the seat in front of me on our ride back to town.

Het personeel is vriendelijk, maar ook opdringerig. Zij bieden extra diensten aan. Zij halen je graag op bij de haven bijvoorbeeld, tegen kosten. Daarnaast willen zij elke dag vervoer aanbieden of een (snorkel)trip. Dit is prima, maar vijf keer per dag aanbieden middels verschillende nummers via de whatsapp is niet oké. Dit voelde voor mij niet als gastvrij. Kamer schoon, maar na de derde dag kreeg ik een hee vies kussen vol met schimmel.

My stay at Surya Maha Bungallo in Nusa Penida was nothing short of amazing! However, what really sets this place apart is the hospitality offered by Pak Surya and his wonderful family. They go above and beyond to make guests feel at home. We had an incident where we forgot an item, and they were instrumental in helping us retrieve it without any fuss. I would highly recommend booking a day tour of Nusa Penida through them as well. The entire experience was hassle-free, and we couldn’t have asked for better guides to this beautiful island. Don’t miss out on their arrival and departure pick-up service from the ferry; it’s reliable and makes the logistics a breeze. All in all, Surya Maha Bungallo is a top-notch choice for anyone visiting Nusa Penida. We can’t wait to return!
