Residence Inn Kansas City Country Club Plaza

The kitchen was great to have. This was like a one bedroom apartment to stay in while travelling. Great location. Walkable to nearby shops and dining. The bus stops a few blocks away to take you down town for free.

Great location, spacious suites. Just a bit noisy from the traffic in the neighborhood, due to having cracked open windows due to ac units.

Hotel facilities are decent but I am giving this hotel 2 stars because even though they authorized an additional $100 above the cost of the room on my card for incidentals I had to pay cash for a bottle of water (the first item I attempted to purchase) because I was “above my limit” whatever that means. I have never experienced such a thing in all my years of travel. Michelle at the desk told me to either put the water back or come up with cash. I guess lifetime status on Marriott still does not get one any type of pleasantness from staff

It was a busy weekend. Hotel only has 1 elevator. There was a prior guests dirty laundry in the closet. Makes me wonder how much detail there was in cleaning the room. Saturday morning breakfast, the ladies were amazing. Sunday morning breakfast ladies were extremely rude. I showed up at 6:57 and asked if I could go ahead and get coffee. “Breakfast is at 7. If you want coffee now, you’ll have to go to lobby” At 7:01, I went to rope. The lady left the area and I held up phone with a quizzical look. She made a comment about being patient.

The woman who checked us in was very nice. Otherwise there was no information. The elevator was broken which required us to walk up 3 flights of stairs which was a hardship.

Nice room and amenities. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast area was good with more seating.

Elevator got broken while my family was riding. Very painful experience for kids. They had no other elevator. Our room was on the 4th floor. When I booked, I did notice that the elevator was under repair. When I messaged the hotel asking for a room in the lower floor, they replied that the elevator work was completed and it was 'out dated information '. It was working when we checked in. Parking lot had space, but one was full of mud and dust another with fiberglass/sprayed insulation all over. They had taken no steps to clean those areas. Breakfast area was great, but selections were poor and with bland taste. Plastic cutleries and disposable plates.

We had family in KUMC ICU. Springhill Suites was close to the hospital. We are not from Kansas City and wanted to be near the hospital. Our room was in a quiet area. We were able to get the much needed rest after a stressful day at the hospital. We had a lovely breakfast waiting each morning with many choices of food. Even gluten free muffins for one of us. The staff was just amazing in meeting all our needs. Even handicapped parking. Thankfully our family member was released to come home. The managers were also always available to help with any requests we had. I would recommend Springhill Suites to all who see this. Clean, comfortable, accommodating place to stay.

Breakfast was not up to par.
