Residence Inn by Marriott Albuquerque North

Pros: The studio room was spacious, the hotel is walking distance to many restaurants. Cons: cockroaches in the bathroom; the fan in the bathroom was very noisy; heating/air conditioning system was very loud and went on and off all night (I think the mechanical room was next to our room) making it impossible to sleep; the room had no hair dyer and when I asked the fellow at the front desk for one he shrugged and said there weren’t any available. I asked again the next morning and was provided with one but it took an hour. Internet was down from when we checked in until when we checked out.

I stay in Marriot hotels because I always thought they were a notch above average. My most recent experience at the Residence Inn Albuquerque North was terrible. I stayed from August 24 to September 4, 2024. The outside has good bones but the inside needs a total refresh. My room and the lobby were old and dated with passe colors and dirty wall covering as well at thread bare and frayed carpet in the halls. The shower room had dirt and / or mold on the upper wall/ ceiling. The room entry system did not work reliably. I had to ask for new entry code cards twice. Worst of all, the fire alarm went off at 12:30 am and continued until about 2:00 am. This put at least 100 customers on the street who waited patiently while police and fire fighters arrived. There was no communication from the staff and no one seemed in charge. Finally, I questioned 2 firemen and was told that it was a short in the alarm, that it was probably ok and that the fire alarm was now not operational. I was and am appalled. Over the entirety of my stay the staff was kind and pleasant but more than one of the members seemed inept. I was and am very unhappy with the experience

Place was clean, quit and staff very helpful.

Checked us into 229 cleaning service sitting in the room chatting. Then they moved us to 129 noise all night some kind of water pump that doesnt stop. The bathroom light had a screeching sound when turned on. Ive stayed here before and it was great just not so great this time around:(

Underwhelming on almost every score... mediocre breakfast, exactly the same every day. A lot of little disappointments. I would not recommend to a friend.

The property was clean. Restraunts nearby within walking distance. Only problem I had was checking in the man had an abrupt manner in having to check me in. I think he was having a bad day. All in all it was great stay:)
